BearingPoint, in collaboration with SAP, launched a modular, cloud-based e-mobility platform designed to streamline electric vehicle (EV) fleet and charging infrastructure management. Unveiled at SAP Sapphire 2025 in Madrid, the solution, built on BearingPoint ETM.next and integrated with SAP E-Mobility, supports fleet managers and charge point operators (CPOs) in advancing electrification while enhancing operational and cost efficiency.

Quick Intel

  • Launch Date: June 24, 2025, at SAP Sapphire 2025, Madrid.
  • Platform: Cloud-based, modular, integrates BearingPoint ETM.next with SAP E-Mobility.
  • Key Features: Unified interface for EV and charging management, smart charging, advanced analytics, ESG reporting, and automated billing.
  • Benefits: Cost efficiency, TCO optimization, comprehensive asset management, and customization for small to large enterprises.
  • Market Context: Addresses a fragmented e-mobility market, with global EV sales projected to reach 17 million in 2025 (IEA).
  • Availability: Part of BearingPoint’s SAP BTP-based product portfolio, accessible via their Products Store.

Streamlining E-Mobility Management

The platform consolidates EV fleet and charging infrastructure into a single interface, addressing the fragmented e-mobility market. “With this solution, we are addressing a crucial need for businesses transitioning to electromobility in a rapidly evolving and currently fragmented market,” said Nina London, Partner at BearingPoint. It offers end-to-end capabilities, including:

  • Fleet and Charge Card Management: Streamlined processes for drivers and vehicles.
  • EVSE Monitoring: Real-time tracking of charging equipment health and efficiency.
  • ESG Reporting: Data provision for sustainability compliance.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Built-in features for seamless integration with ERP systems, ideal for small and mid-sized CPOs.

The solution runs on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and is compatible with SAP S/4HANA, ensuring scalability and integration with existing SAP landscapes. Its smart charging optimizes energy costs, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) for fleet operators.

Key Benefits

  1. Cost Efficiency: Lower licensing costs for CPOs, with seamless ERP integration for digital workflows.
  2. End-to-End Automation: Fully automated charging transactions across backend and frontend systems.
  3. TCO Optimization: Smart charging, optimized routing, and unified billing enhance user experience and financial transparency.
  4. Comprehensive Asset Management: Holistic lifecycle management with live monitoring minimizes downtime.
  5. Customization: Tailored configurations and value-added services like predictive maintenance ensure long-term reliability.

Advanced analytics provide insights into charging behaviors and route planning, maximizing asset utilization and supporting sustainability goals, aligning with the 2025 global EV market growth to 17 million units (IEA).

Industry Context

The platform enters a booming e-mobility sector, with the global EV charging market projected to grow from USD 3.8 billion in 2024 to USD 32.1 billion by 2032 (CAGR 30.6%). Competitors like ChargePoint and ABB offer similar solutions, but BearingPoint’s SAP integration and focus on small to mid-sized CPOs provide a unique edge. SAP E-Mobility’s prior success with clients like ChargeX and Amperfied (migrating 1,700 chargers to the cloud in 2025) underscores the platform’s reliability.

Posts on X highlight enthusiasm, with @The_EV_Report noting the platform’s role in advancing sustainable fleet management, reflecting positive industry sentiment.

Strategic Impact

The launch expands BearingPoint’s SAP BTP-based product portfolio, reinforcing its position as a certified B Corporation committed to sustainability. “This event provided an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the capabilities of our integrated e-mobility platform,” London added. The solution is a game-changer for fleet operators future-proofing mobility strategies, particularly in Europe, where EV adoption is accelerating (47% of new car sales in Norway, 2024).
