Torq, a leader in autonomous security operations, has partnered with AI4ALL, a nonprofit focused on inclusive AI education, to launch a nationwide AI internship program aimed at cultivating the next generation of cybersecurity talent. This initiative addresses the growing AI skills gap by providing students from underrepresented communities with hands-on experience, mentorship, and career pathways in AI-driven cybersecurity.
The cybersecurity industry faces a critical shortage of AI expertise, leaving organizations vulnerable to increasingly complex cyber threats. Torq, known for its HyperSOC platform used by global enterprises like PepsiCo and Siemens, is tackling this challenge through its partnership with AI4ALL. The internship program empowers students from communities historically excluded from AI, including Black, Hispanic, Latinx, Indigenous, women, and non-binary individuals, to develop skills in responsible AI and cybersecurity.
“At Torq, we believe the future of AI and cybersecurity must be purpose-driven and built on real-world experience,” said Karin Ophir Zimet, Chief People Officer, Torq. The program offers well-compensated internships focused on R&D and engineering, where interns work on cutting-edge projects within Torq’s AI-driven HyperSOC platform. Expert mentorship ensures participants gain practical skills and confidence to pursue long-term careers in cybersecurity.
“This collaboration with Torq is about giving students a meaningful opportunity to see what a future in AI can really look like,” said Tess Posner, Interim CEO, AI4ALL. By providing exposure to real-world challenges and fostering a supportive community, the program equips interns with technical expertise and social capital. AI4ALL’s mission to cultivate diverse AI leaders aligns with Torq’s commitment to responsible, inclusive AI innovation.
Supported by a $2 million grant from Google.org, this initiative strengthens AI4ALL’s efforts to reach underrepresented communities. The program not only addresses immediate industry needs but also builds a diverse talent pipeline to shape the future of AI-driven cybersecurity. Interns gain a launchpad to in-demand roles, contributing to more resilient and inclusive security operations.
The Torq and AI4ALL internship program represents a transformative step toward closing the AI skills gap in cybersecurity. By fostering diverse talent through practical experience and mentorship, this initiative ensures a stronger, more inclusive future for the industry.
