  • Automated Table Maintenance cuts storage costs, boosts performance.
  • Strategic investment from Citi enhances AI-driven financial solutions.

Advancing Enterprise AI with Starburst AI Agent

Starburst’s AI Agent, in private preview, offers a natural language interface for data analysts and AI agents to generate insights and documentation securely. “AI is raising the bar for enterprise data platforms, but most architectures aren’t ready,” said Justin Borgman, CEO of Starburst. Supporting hybrid and air-gapped environments, it ensures secure data access for regulated sectors like finance, where Starburst serves 10 of the top 15 banks, driving faster AI adoption.

Optimizing AI Development with AI Workflows

Starburst AI Workflows, in private preview, accelerates AI from experimentation to production by integrating vector-native search, metadata-driven context, and robust governance. Teams can transform unstructured data into vector embeddings in Apache Iceberg, run LLM tasks via SQL, and enforce model access controls without data movement. “We’re turning the data lakehouse into an enterprise-grade platform for AI agents,” said Matt Fuller, VP of AI/ML Products, Starburst, highlighting scalability and security.

Streamlining Data Lakehouse Operations

The Starburst Data Catalog, in private preview, replaces Hive Metastore with native Iceberg support, reducing metadata sprawl and boosting query performance. Starburst Galaxy’s Fully Managed Iceberg Pipelines automate maintenance tasks like compaction and snapshot cleanup, cutting costs. Ricardo Cardante of TalkDesk noted a 66% reduction in S3 storage costs using Automated Table Maintenance, demonstrating its impact on large-scale Iceberg operations.

Enhancing Governance and Query Efficiency

Starburst Galaxy’s AI-Powered Auto-Tagging, generally available, uses LLMs to detect sensitive data like PII, enabling secure self-service access. Automatic Query Routing, with User Role-Based Routing generally available and Deployment Set Routing in private preview, optimizes performance by directing queries based on load or role. The Data-to-AI Readiness Blueprint service aligns data infrastructure with AI strategies, ensuring governance and efficiency.

Starburst’s AI capabilities and data lakehouse innovations enable enterprises to overcome fragmented data challenges, accelerating AI adoption with secure, scalable solutions. With a strategic investment from Citi, Starburst is positioned to drive AI transformation across industries, delivering cost-efficient data management and faster insights.
