  • Infineon and NVIDIA collaborate to advance humanoid robotics.

  • Integration enhances precise motor control with AI-driven solutions.

  • Infineon’s PSOC and AURIX microcontrollers ensure secure, real-time processing.

  • NVIDIA Jetson Thor powers physical AI for scalable robotics.

  • Gallium nitride (GaN) technology boosts motor control efficiency.

  • Partnership reduces time-to-market for OEMs and ODMs.

Driving Innovation in Humanoid Robotics

Infineon’s collaboration with NVIDIA aims to transform humanoid robotics by combining advanced microcontroller technology with cutting-edge AI computing. “We are excited to collaborate with NVIDIA, a leader and innovator in the humanoid robotics space,” said Jochen Hanebeck, CEO of Infineon Technologies. “By combining our microcontroller, sensor, and smart actuator expertise with NVIDIA accelerated computing technology, we will deliver a simple, integrated, and scalable solution to our customers, reducing their time to market significantly.” This partnership targets applications in manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, where precise motion is critical.

Advanced Motor Control Solutions

Infineon’s PSOC Control C3 microcontrollers integrate seamlessly with NVIDIA’s Holoscan Sensor Bridge and Jetson Thor modules, enabling real-time AI and control. These microcontrollers support field-oriented-control (FOC) algorithms, which reduce noise and ensure stable torque output, minimizing vibrations in humanoid robots. Additionally, Infineon’s gallium nitride (GaN)-based transistor technology and gate drivers enhance motor control efficiency, addressing complex design challenges. “NVIDIA Jetson Thor is designed to accelerate the future of physical AI and robotics,” said Deepu Talla, Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI at NVIDIA.

Robust Security and Connectivity

Infineon’s PSOC and AURIX microcontroller families offer industry-leading security to protect against cyberattacks, ensuring safe and responsive robotic systems. The acquisition of Marvell’s Automotive Ethernet business has added the BRIGHTLANE series, providing high-speed ethernet capabilities essential for humanoid robot connectivity. This strengthens the ability of robots to sense, move, act, and connect securely, supporting real-time data processing across diverse applications.

Scalable and Efficient Robotics Development

The partnership empowers original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) with scalable solutions that streamline development. Infineon’s comprehensive portfolio, including power switches, sensors, and connectivity tools, supports the creation of sophisticated robots capable of performing complex tasks with precision. This collaboration reduces development time, enabling faster deployment of humanoid robots in critical industries.

Infineon and NVIDIA’s partnership marks a significant leap in humanoid robotics, combining AI-driven computing with advanced motor control to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions. This collaboration positions both companies to lead innovation, empowering businesses to deploy next-generation robots that enhance productivity and accuracy across industries.
