Semarchy, a global leader in Master Data Management (MDM) and data integration, has announced integration between the Semarchy Data Platform and Microsoft Fabric. This development represents the next major advancement in the strategic collaboration between Semarchy and Microsoft, unifying master data in Microsoft OneLake for scalable use across business functions through Microsoft Fabric services, including Microsoft Power BI, Fabric Data Warehouse, and Fabric data agents. Additionally, critical metadata from Semarchy is integrated into Microsoft Purview, enhancing data discovery and comprehension.

Quick Intel

  • Semarchy integrates with Microsoft Fabric to unify master data in OneLake for Power BI and other tools.
  • Enables native access to Semarchy's data products, APIs, and metadata from Fabric services.
  • Supports DataOps with Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot, and Git for rapid data product creation.
  • Populates metadata in Purview for improved data governance, lineage, and findability.
  • Facilitates AI-driven insights and Customer 360 initiatives with trusted golden records.
  • Preview demonstrated at Microsoft FabCon EMEA in Vienna; available on Azure Marketplace.

Integration Overview

By combining semantic models, enterprise-grade data control, and collaborative design tools, Semarchy and Microsoft empower teams to leverage trusted data more effectively, accelerating decision-making and maximizing business value. The integration allows customers to natively access Semarchy’s mastered data products—including datasets, APIs, and metadata—directly from Microsoft Fabric. This provides high-quality data and semantic models through Fabric capabilities such as Power BI for reporting, Data Engineering for processing, Data Warehousing for storage, and Real-Time Intelligence for analytics.

Users can utilize Purview to swiftly locate governed data and examine key metadata, including lineage. DataOps practices are supported, enabling the quick production and publication of new, enriched data products using familiar tools like Microsoft Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot, and GitHub. Integrating semantic models with golden data in OneLake makes raw data accessible to both humans and AI, promoting shared understanding across business units and enhancing trust in Power BI reports, GitHub Copilot analyses, and other applications.

Benefits for Businesses

The Semarchy Data Platform’s compatibility with DataOps and tools like Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot streamlines the creation, sharing, and management of data products in Microsoft Fabric, addressing the surging demand for data initiatives. This balanced approach delivers both technical efficiency and business outcomes, allowing teams to transform data into extensible reports and dashboards via Power BI while supporting AI and Customer 360 projects.

Sacha Dawes, Chief Product Officer at Semarchy, said: “I’m excited for this next step in our collaboration with Microsoft. Our integration makes Semarchy Data Platform's enriched golden records and semantic models available in Microsoft Fabric, and available to the rich ecosystem of Microsoft and third-party tools that work with Fabric. This ultimately allows teams and AI to quickly transform data into extensible reports and dashboards through Microsoft Power BI, as well as easily leverage trusted data within data-focused initiatives like AI and Customer 360 initiatives.”

“This relationship highlights our DataOps-driven data management, offering customers the agility to build and deliver trusted data rapidly and at scale. Our integration is a crucial step in helping customers achieve this vision within the Fabric ecosystem.”

This integration is the first of several from Semarchy designed to enhance Fabric value. A preview is being showcased this week at Microsoft FabCon EMEA in Vienna, with Semarchy solutions available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

Dipti Borkar, VP and GM, OneLake and Fabric ISVs, Microsoft, commented: “This collaboration enables Microsoft Power BI dashboards built directly on enriched, trustworthy golden data records in Microsoft OneLake with the depth of context provided by semantic models. Together with Semarchy, we’re giving our customers additional tools to drive value, automate business insights, and push the boundaries of enterprise data analytics.”

Semarchy's integration with Microsoft Fabric positions businesses to harness trusted data for smarter decisions, faster growth, and measurable outcomes, leveraging a unified platform available on-prem or in the cloud via marketplaces like Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
