  • Cisco launches security solutions for AI workloads at Cisco Live 2025.

  • Hybrid Mesh Firewall enhances segmentation and visibility.

  • Universal ZTNA ensures identity-driven access for users and AI agents.

  • Splunk integrations improve threat detection and response.

  • New Cisco Secure Firewall 6100 and 200 Series boost performance.

  • Security Cloud Control simplifies policy management across environments.

Fortifying Networks for Agentic AI

As enterprises adopt agentic AI, which autonomously accesses resources and makes decisions, new security challenges emerge. “Safety and security are the defining challenges of the AI era—and agentic AI multiplies the risk, as every new agent is both a force multiplier and a fresh attack surface,” said Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer, Cisco. Cisco’s innovations integrate security into the network, leveraging tools like Cisco Duo IAM, Cisco Identity Intelligence, and Cisco AI Defense to secure AI workloads and mitigate sophisticated threats.

Hybrid Mesh Firewall: Scalable Protection

The Cisco Hybrid Mesh Firewall portfolio introduces the Secure Firewall 6100 Series, delivering 200 Gbps per rack unit for AI-ready data centers, and the Secure Firewall 200 Series, offering 3x price-performance for branches. The Mesh Policy Engine in Security Cloud Control enables unified, intent-based policy enforcement across Cisco and third-party firewalls, simplifying operations and enhancing segmentation for data centers and IoT environments.

Universal ZTNA: Identity-Driven Security

Cisco’s Universal ZTNA redefines zero trust by providing seamless, identity-driven access for users, devices, and AI agents across hybrid environments. It integrates with Cisco Secure Access and supports unmanaged devices and IoT, with features like automated agent discovery and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. The launch of Duo Identity and Access Management (IAM) introduces passwordless authentication and proximity verification, enhancing phishing resistance.

Splunk Integrations for Enhanced Threat Detection

Cisco’s deepened integration with Splunk, following its $28 billion acquisition, unifies data across firewalls, networks, and applications. The Cisco Security Cloud App for Splunk enhances threat detection with enriched telemetry from Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense and Cisco AI Defense. Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) integrations enable automated containment, reducing response times and manual effort.

Industry Impact and Validation

“Cisco is in a unique position to support this with its ability to embed advanced protections directly into the network,” said John Grady, Principal Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. The solutions empower enterprises to scale securely, with tools like Security Cloud Control and AI-driven insights ensuring resilience against AI-driven threats. Early adopters, including Ford Motor Company, highlight Cisco’s role in supporting AI-driven operations across industries.

Cisco’s latest innovations redefine enterprise security, embedding zero trust and AI-driven protections into the network fabric. By addressing the unique challenges of agentic AI, Cisco enables organizations to adopt AI confidently while maintaining robust security.
