Watchfire has announced a series of updates to its digital billboard solutions aimed at helping operators reduce operating costs, improve efficiency, and increase advertising revenue. The updates include energy-efficient billboard technology, enhanced connectivity, and new capabilities within its Ignite OA content management platform to support programmatic advertising and inventory optimization.
The latest enhancements are designed to help digital billboard operators lower total ownership costs while expanding monetization opportunities through improved advertising workflows.
Watchfire announced a range of enhancements across its digital billboard portfolio to help outdoor advertising operators improve profitability through lower operating expenses and more efficient advertising management.
Among the updates is a new generation of energy-efficient digital billboard technology capable of reducing power consumption by up to 30%. Since energy costs represent a significant operating expense for billboard operators, the company said the technology offers an opportunity to reduce ongoing costs while maintaining display performance.
The company has also introduced upgrades to its cellular connectivity infrastructure, including improved hardware, updated data plans, and expanded customer support services.
According to Watchfire, the enhancements are intended to reduce monthly communication costs across billboard networks while improving connection reliability and providing operators with greater visibility into display performance.
"Cellular costs can add up quickly across a network. In many cases, we can help operators lower those costs while improving service and response times." said Kyle Dines, Vice President of Outdoor Advertising at Watchfire.
Watchfire also announced continued investments in Ignite OA, its proprietary content management platform that is included with digital billboard displays.
The platform now supports direct, one-click integrations with leading programmatic advertising platforms including Blip, Vistar, and Perion/Hivestack, enabling operators to access a broader pool of digital advertisers and improve billboard inventory utilization.
In addition, Ignite OA introduces new campaign management capabilities such as rotary campaigns, allowing advertisers to run a single campaign across multiple displays, and conditional content, which enables advertisements to be triggered based on factors including time of day, weather conditions, and other real-world events.
These capabilities are designed to help billboard operators deliver more targeted advertising experiences while maximizing revenue opportunities.
Watchfire stated that its latest updates combine energy-efficient hardware, improved connectivity, advertising software, and customer support to help operators manage digital billboard networks more effectively.
"The challenge isn't managing screens, it's consistently filling them with paying advertisers. Our focus is simple, help operators spend less and make more." said Kyle Dines, Vice President of Outdoor Advertising at Watchfire.
"These aren't just features; they directly impact how operators sell and how much they can generate from each board." said Kyle Dines, Vice President of Outdoor Advertising at Watchfire.
"At the end of the day, if we can help our customers reduce costs, sell more effectively, and operate more efficiently, we're doing our job." said Kyle Dines, Vice President of Outdoor Advertising at Watchfire.
The announcement reflects continued investment in digital out-of-home (DOOH) technology as operators seek more efficient ways to manage advertising inventory, reduce operating costs, and improve revenue generation.
