This strategic hire reinforces Thatcher & Company's commitment to sustainable expansion while maintaining high-touch, senior-level service. Irwin's extensive track record in building and leading communications teams for technology-driven organizations positions him to operationalize growth strategies effectively.
Irwin most recently served as Managing Director of Zeno Group's Global Technology Practice and head of Zeno West, where he oversaw the Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices. He launched and scaled Zeno's Silicon Valley presence to support influential global technology companies.
Earlier roles include General Manager of Edelman's Silicon Valley office, Partner at A&R Partners, and leadership of Coltrin & Associates' Silicon Valley office. His career began in New York City, where he collaborated with Brad Thatcher on high-profile accounts including the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games and 3Com (including its Palm spin-out).
"Todd is a rare combination of strategic thinker, operator and trusted advisor," said Brad Thatcher, Founder and CEO of Thatcher & Company. "As our clients face increasingly complex intersections of reputation, media, technology and societal change, Todd's experience scaling teams and advising technology-driven organizations will help ensure we continue to deliver consistent, senior-level counsel as we grow. I began my career working with Todd in New York City at Coltrin & Associates, where we gained formative experiences representing the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games and 3Com (and its spin out of Palm), among a range of fantastic clients. It's a thrill to reconnect with Todd."
In his new role, Irwin will prioritize operationalizing the firm's growth, deepening technology and data capabilities in communications, and building leadership depth to meet evolving client needs. This includes expanding support for technology companies, investors, and innovation ecosystems on the West Coast while maintaining strong coordination with New York headquarters, Salt Lake City, and offices in Dallas, Raleigh, and Los Angeles.
"Thatcher & Company has built a strong reputation for clear-eyed counsel and trusted relationships with senior leaders," said Irwin. "Thatcher & Company enjoys a truly unique combination of clients across business, technology, higher education, governments, nonprofits and economic development that sets it apart in the industry. My focus is on building the leadership depth, teams and systems that allow clients to thrive with the firm for long-term partnership in the ever-evolving communications and marketing landscape."
The appointment highlights Thatcher & Company's ongoing investment in senior talent to elevate client outcomes, manage reputational complexities, and foster durable partnerships in a rapidly changing global landscape.
