During MWC Barcelona 2026, HONOR presented its strategic roadmap for building a global AI device ecosystem during the opening ConnectAI panel discussion. The company outlined its shift from a traditional smartphone manufacturer to an AI-first ecosystem player, centered around the HONOR AI Connect Platform, which is expected to integrate more than 20,000 AI services by the end of 2026.

  • HONOR AI Connect Platform to integrate 20,000+ AI services
  • Transition from smartphone maker to AI device ecosystem company
  • Focus on open ecosystem and cross-brand AI connectivity
  • Introduction of “Personal Avatar” AI concept across devices
  • Expansion into education, smart home, audio, pets, and toys

HONOR emphasized that its transformation is driven by the convergence of AI, connectivity, and intelligent devices. The upgraded HONOR AI Connect Platform opens core AI capabilities to ecosystem partners, enabling deeper integration beyond simple device connectivity and moving toward shared intelligence across multiple hardware environments.

From Devices to an Open AI Ecosystem

The company highlighted its ambition to break traditional ecosystem barriers and shift toward what it described as “breaking walls” between hardware platforms. Through collaborations with partners such as Orange, HONOR aims to expand into new categories including smart home devices, education tools, audio systems, toys, and even companion robotics.

A key concept introduced was the “Personal Avatar,” an AI-driven digital identity designed to operate across a user’s connected ecosystem. This avatar is intended to carry contextual understanding across devices, enabling continuity between smartphones, vehicles, smart homes, and service robots.

AI Connect Platform and Distributed Intelligence

HONOR explained that its strategy is built on distributed intelligence, where AI is no longer confined to a single device or screen. Instead, AI agents act as a unified interface across multiple environments. This approach enables “decoupling” of hardware functions into specialized devices and “ubiquitization” of AI entry points across everyday contexts.

The HONOR AI Connect Platform serves as the foundation of this ecosystem, allowing partners to integrate and scale AI services across different product categories. This architecture is designed to support seamless interaction and shared intelligence across brands and device types.

Augmented Human Intelligence and Robot Phone Concept

HONOR also introduced its concept of Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI), which positions devices as proactive assistants rather than passive tools. A key example is the HONOR Robot Phone, a concept device designed to function as an autonomous content capture assistant, capable of tracking subjects and recording video without manual control.

This reflects HONOR’s broader vision of AI-native hardware, where devices actively assist users in creative, educational, and daily-life scenarios.

Product Showcase at MWC 2026

Alongside its ecosystem announcements, HONOR showcased its latest hardware innovations, including the AI-native HONOR Magic V6 foldable smartphone, as well as new-generation tablets and PCs. These devices demonstrate the company’s push toward integrating AI capabilities directly into consumer hardware across multiple form factors.

The company’s exhibition at MWC Barcelona 2026 positioned its AI ecosystem strategy as a long-term transition toward interconnected, intelligent devices that operate as part of a unified digital environment.

Conclusion

HONOR’s AI ecosystem blueprint at MWC Barcelona 2026 reflects a major strategic shift toward open, cross-brand intelligence powered by the HONOR AI Connect Platform. With a focus on distributed AI, ecosystem partnerships, and next-generation devices, the company is aiming to redefine how users interact with technology across multiple environments.
