  • Greenhouse has officially completed its acquisition of Ezra AI Labs.
  • Ezra provides AI-powered voice interviewing for candidate screening.
  • The platform delivers structured, role-specific candidate conversations and evaluations.
  • Ezra founder Ophir Samson joins Greenhouse as Head of Voice AI.
  • Ezra will continue operating as a standalone product for all ATS platforms.
  • Greenhouse plans deeper integration across interviewing and talent matching workflows.

Acquisition Brings Voice AI to Early-Stage Hiring

According to Greenhouse, the acquisition is designed to improve hiring efficiency and candidate evaluation during the earliest phases of recruitment, where recruiters often manage large applicant volumes and risk overlooking qualified talent.

Ezra’s platform conducts structured, on-demand voice interviews using predefined questions and scoring rubrics created collaboratively by recruiters and hiring managers. Every candidate is evaluated against the same role-specific criteria, with recruiters receiving transcripts, structured evaluations, and explainable scoring insights.

Greenhouse says the approach aligns closely with its long-standing structured hiring methodology, which focuses on consistency, fairness, and data-backed hiring decisions.

"Closing this deal marks the start of a different kind of AI in hiring, one that gives candidates a real shot and gives recruiters a real signal," said Daniel Chait, CEO and Co-founder of Greenhouse. "Ophir and the Ezra team have built something the rest of the category has been promising and failing to deliver. Having him lead voice AI at Greenhouse means we can move faster on what comes next."

Ezra Founder to Lead Voice AI Strategy

As part of the acquisition, Ezra AI Labs founder Ophir Samson has joined Greenhouse as Head of Voice AI. He will oversee the integration and expansion of voice-driven interviewing capabilities across the Greenhouse hiring platform.

The company stated that Ezra will remain available as a standalone solution for both Greenhouse customers and organizations using other applicant tracking systems (ATS), allowing broader adoption of the platform’s AI interviewing capabilities.

"Joining Greenhouse as Head of Voice AI means Ezra can reach the scale this problem demands," said Ophir Samson, Head of Voice AI at Greenhouse and founder of Ezra AI Labs. "Hiring has needed a conversation at the front of the funnel for a long time. We can now bring that to every company that wants it, whether they run on Greenhouse or not."

Greenhouse Emphasizes AI Transparency and Bias Auditing

Greenhouse said Ezra will operate under the company’s established AI governance principles, including monthly independent bias audits published publicly through the Greenhouse AI Assurance Dashboard in partnership with Warden AI.

The company also confirmed that Ezra is currently available in the United States, with additional regional expansion planned in the future.

Over the coming months, Greenhouse plans to further integrate Ezra’s capabilities into broader hiring workflows, including interviewing, talent matching, and candidate experience management.

AI Interviewing Continues to Reshape Talent Acquisition

The acquisition reflects growing adoption of AI-powered recruiting technologies aimed at improving hiring efficiency, consistency, and candidate engagement. Voice AI interviewing platforms are increasingly being used to automate screening processes while giving candidates more opportunities to demonstrate communication skills, experience, and role fit beyond traditional resumes.

Greenhouse currently supports more than 7,500 organizations globally with AI-powered hiring and recruitment software designed to streamline sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and structured decision-making processes.
