Pimloc to Showcase Automated Video Redaction at NASRO and ISTELive 26 as K-12 Districts Face Growing Pressure to Release Footage Safely

Secure Redact helps K-12 districts redact students’ personally identifiable information from recorded video and sensitive documents before records are shared with parents, attorneys, law enforcement or public agencies.

San Francisco, CA, June 10, 2026 — Pimloc, a provider of AI-powered video privacy and redaction software, today announced it will exhibit at the 2026 NASRO School Safety Conference, taking place June 28-July 2 in Reno, NV, at Booth #216, and ISTELive 26, taking place June 28-July 1 in Orlando, FL, at Booth #1856, to meet with K-12 school safety, security, IT and education leaders about the growing challenge of protecting student privacy when recorded video and sensitive records need to be reviewed, redacted and released.

At both events, Pimloc will showcase Secure Redact, its automated video redaction platform that helps districts prepare video for review and release by automatically detecting and blurring faces and other personally identifiable information. The platform can be used alongside existing video management systems or digital evidence management systems, or deployed as a standalone redaction workflow.

“Schools have access to more video than ever, and that footage can be critical when parents, attorneys or public agencies ask for answers after an incident,” said Andre Greco, VP of U.S. Sales at Pimloc. “But finding the right clip is only the first step. Before footage can be shared, districts need to protect every other student captured in the recording. That process is still manual in many schools, and it often falls to IT teams that do not have the time, tools or capacity to manage it at scale.”

Under FERPA, 20 U.S.C. § 1232g(a)(4), education records include records that contain information directly related to a student and are maintained by an educational agency or institution. When school surveillance footage meets that definition, a parent is entitled to information about their own child, but not the personally identifiable information of other students captured in the same recording, per 34 C.F.R. § 99.12. That means a short clip from a hallway, cafeteria, bus or classroom needs to be redacted before it can be released.

For many districts, that redaction process still requires staff to review footage frame by frame using tools that were not designed for education records, student privacy or high-volume video requests. A single video can take hours to prepare, and one missed face can create risk for the district.

Secure Redact automates the process. Districts upload recorded footage, the platform detects and redacts faces and other personally identifiable information, and a redacted file can be downloaded for review and release. Every frame is redacted, and an audit trail is generated automatically so districts can document how the footage was handled.

Secure Redact also supports document redaction for sensitive student records, including IEPs, 504 plans, attendance records, free and reduced lunch lists, report cards and other documents that contain student information.

“Districts want to be responsive to families, but they also have a responsibility to protect every student who appears on screen or other sensitive documents,” Greco added. “Secure Redact gives schools a faster, repeatable way to process video and incident requests so they can release records more safely without adding more manual work for already stretched teams.”

K-12 leaders attending NASRO can meet Pimloc at Booth #216. K-12 leaders attending ISTELive 26 can meet Pimloc at Booth #1856.
