Document Redaction brings automated PII detection and review tools for PDFs, Microsoft Office files, emails and scanned documents.
LONDON – September 16, 2026 – Pimloc, the privacy technology company making sensitive data usable, today announced expanded Document Redaction capabilities in Pimloc Redact, extending automated redaction to more document types within its all-in-one solution for video, audio, images and documents.
Document Redaction brings automated redaction for PDFs, emails, scanned documents and Microsoft Office files, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, into Pimloc Redact alongside its video, audio and image redaction tools. Pimloc automatically detects names, addresses, dates and other personally identifiable information (PII) in documents with 98.5?curacy, with tools for users to review, adjust and approve what is redacted before a file is shared.

Document Redaction is designed for organisations that regularly need to remove personal information from sensitive records before they can be shared with legal teams, insurers, regulators or individuals making data requests. Used across policing, healthcare, transport, retail, education and other sectors, it reduces the manual work involved in reviewing every page and checking that sensitive information has been removed.
Users can begin reviewing and manually redacting a document as soon as it is uploaded, while automated PII detection runs in the background. This removes a processing wait that previously could take several minutes for a short document and, in some cases, hours for files running to hundreds of pages.
Pimloc automatically groups detected information by type, allowing users to review names, addresses, dates and other PII in one place and apply redactions individually or across multiple occurrences. Users can also search for specific words, phrases or numbers that need to be removed, giving teams control over information that may be specific to an individual file or case.
Redactions can be labelled where organisations need to record why information has been withheld, while an “All Redactions” view gives users a single place to review and navigate every redaction made across a document.
Every detection, edit and approval is logged, creating an audit trail of how the document was handled. Users can export documents with black box, labelled or annotated redactions and remove document metadata before sharing. Completed documents can then be shared through Pimloc’s secure file sharing using an expiring link protected by two-factor authentication.
