Bloomerang, an intelligent Giving Platform supporting over 24,000 nonprofits, has announced the launch of Conversational Reporting. This new capability allows nonprofit team members to describe their data needs in plain language and receive fully configured, ready-to-use reports within seconds. Currently available in Alpha, the feature is designed to democratize data access across organizations, moving beyond traditional systems of record to active intelligence that assists in daily operations.
AI-Powered Reporting: Users can generate reports by typing natural language requests like "show me lapsed donors."
Eliminating Technical Barriers: Removes the need for complex queries, manual filters, or specialized training.
Real-Time Refinement: Allows users to adjust reports on the fly with simple follow-up questions.
Automated Workflows: Reports can be scheduled for recurring delivery and converted into targeted outreach lists with one click.
Integrated Intelligence: Part of Bloomerang’s broader suite, including Penny, the strategic fundraising partner.
Availability: Alpha access begins immediately, with general availability scheduled for Summer 2026.
Conversational Reporting addresses a long-standing challenge in the nonprofit sector: the technical complexity of data extraction. Traditionally, pulling specific donor or volunteer segments required specialized knowledge of database queries, often creating bottlenecks where only one staff member could access critical information. Bloomerang’s new tool allows any user—from development directors to program managers—to retrieve insights instantly.
The platform is designed to handle a wide range of requests, such as tracking volunteer hours by region or identifying new donors acquired through specific peer-to-peer campaigns. By simplifying the reporting process, Bloomerang aims to shift the focus of nonprofit staff from administrative data management to active donor engagement and mission-critical tasks.
"Our goal is to make intelligence the default. Not an add-on," said Dennis Fois, Chief Executive Officer at Bloomerang. "Conversational reporting is a real step toward that. The development director who used to spend Tuesday mornings pulling reports can now spend them calling donors. That's the shift. The platform stops being a system of record. It starts doing the work alongside the team."
This release is the latest addition to Bloomerang’s intelligent Giving Platform, which integrates CRM, fundraising, and volunteer management. The system is built to surface insights and explain the reasoning behind them, providing a strategic layer that drafts "next steps" for nonprofit teams while ensuring they maintain final decision-making authority.
Tommy Vacek, Chief Technology Officer at Bloomerang, emphasized the reliability of the new system. "Reporting has been one of the biggest technical barriers in nonprofit software. Too many clicks, too much training, and too often a single staff member is the only one who can build the query the team needs," said Vacek. "We built conversational reporting so the report you describe is the report you get back. You don't have to wonder if the filters are right or if you're missing something. You ask, you get the answer, you act."
By reducing the time spent on manual administration, Bloomerang enables organizations to build stronger, more personalized relationships with their supporters, ultimately fueling greater mission impact.
