Cloudinary has launched Cloudinary Moderation, an AI-powered tool that automatically reviews images against custom brand guidelines to approve, flag, or reject content before publication. Designed for companies handling large volumes of partner, vendor, or user-generated content, the solution enables marketing and operations teams to maintain brand standards, reduce manual review efforts, and prevent non-compliant visuals from reaching customers.

Quick Intel

  • Cloudinary launches AI-powered Moderation tool for automatic review of images against brand guidelines
  • Automatically approves, flags, or rejects content to ensure visual consistency at scale
  • Addresses the gap where only 25% of brands can consistently enforce visual guidelines with third-party content
  • AI trained on each brand’s unique standards to detect issues like wrong logos, off-brand colors, or poor quality
  • Provides clear explanations for decisions and supports human override with full audit trail
  • Generally available today for industries including retail, consumer goods, travel, and hospitality

While 85% of brands maintain visual guidelines, enforcing them consistently across third-party content at scale remains a major challenge. Manual review processes are too slow and subjective for modern content volumes, and generic moderation tools lack the necessary customization.

Custom AI Trained on Brand-Specific Guidelines

Cloudinary Moderation is trained on each brand’s specific visual standards, enabling precise enforcement rather than relying on generic content filtering. The AI identifies issues such as incorrect logos, off-brand colors, poor image quality, or non-compliant elements before assets go live.

“As a marketplace, maintaining high-quality and consistent product images is critical for customer trust and conversion,” said Rivly CEO Daniel Thompson. “With Cloudinary Moderation, we will be able to automatically review seller-submitted images, understand any issues, and immediately guide sellers toward optimal images.”

Streamlined Workflow and Auditability

The tool provides clear reasons for flagging or rejecting images, creating a complete audit trail of moderation decisions. It also supports human override when needed. Because Moderation is integrated directly into the Cloudinary platform, teams can identify, review, and adjust visuals within the same familiar workflow.

“Brands shouldn't have to choose between speed and brand control,” said Keren Sela, GM for Moderation at Cloudinary. “Cloudinary Moderation lets them move fast while maintaining standards—automatically reviewing partner and user content against their specific guidelines.”

The solution is particularly valuable for brands in retail, consumer goods, travel, and hospitality that manage high volumes of external content while needing to protect brand integrity and customer experience.
