Mindgruve's acquisition of Ameo marks a strategic expansion into Europe, where the Hamburg-based agency has established itself as a pioneer in Amazon-focused services since its founding more than ten years ago. Ameo delivers sophisticated retail media and ad tech solutions, serving enterprise brands across major markets including Germany and the U.K., and enabling global companies to navigate complex marketplaces effectively.

Germany stands out as a critical entry point for U.S. brands seeking European growth, given its position as the continent's largest e-commerce market and Amazon's second-largest worldwide. Ameo's local expertise and on-the-ground presence address the unique challenges of this highly competitive landscape.

"We're seeing a growing number of U.S. brands look to Germany as the gateway to European commerce—it's the region's largest market and the second-largest Amazon market globally, which also makes it one of the most complex to navigate," said Chad Robley, CEO of Mindgruve. "To meet that demand, Ameo's team will bring deep local and regional expertise with boots on the ground. Together, we're establishing a scalable European platform that helps U.S. and global brands expand and perform more consistently across the region."

Ameo's proficiency in Amazon Marketing Cloud, advanced analytics, and retail media optimization integrates seamlessly with Mindgruve's Sightline platform, enhancing predictive marketing, business intelligence, and performance insights. The combined entity offers enterprise clients greater transparency, automation, and standardized measurement across markets.

"What stood out to us about Mindgruve was the strength of its analytics and technology—capabilities that are difficult to find at scale in the German market," said Sönke Hansen, founder of Ameo, who will serve as Mindgruve's SVP Commerce, Europe. "Mindgruve brings an advanced measurement and agentic commerce approach that complements our Amazon and retail media expertise, and together we can offer European brands—and U.S. brands entering Europe—a level of transparency, automation, and performance intelligence that simply hasn't existed here before."

This transaction builds on Mindgruve's ongoing momentum in the U.S. and Latin America, reinforced by strategic hires such as former Amazon executive Spencer Lian-Thornton. The acquisition underscores the company's commitment to advancing retail media, commerce, and data-driven solutions for global brands.
