  • 83% of organizations report operational traditional AI, up from 40% four years ago.

  • 76% have advanced generative AI maturity, with 19% at transformational levels.

  • AI investment remains steady, with budgets over $500 million rising seven-fold.

  • 94% of organizations expect increased demand for AI training data in 2025.

  • High-quality, accurate data is a top priority for 80% of surveyed organizations.

  • Demand for domain-specific expertise grows as AI maturity increases.

Traditional AI Adoption Surges

The 2025 survey, conducted by Reputation Leaders for LXT, shows that 83% of organizations have reached higher levels of traditional AI maturity, a significant leap from 40% in 2021. Only 17% of companies are still experimenting, down from 60% in 2022. Of these, 32% operate at a functional level, where AI supports business operations, while 35% have achieved systemic integration, and 16% have reached transformational stages, embedding AI into their business DNA.

Generative AI Outpaces Traditional AI

Generative AI is advancing even faster, with 75% of organizations utilizing it at operational or systemic levels to generate business value or transform processes. Notably, 19% have reached the transformational stage, surpassing traditional AI’s 16%. However, 24% remain in early stages, with 3% in the awareness phase and 21% experimenting, indicating room for further growth in generative AI adoption.

AI Investment Trends

AI investment remains consistent, with 47% of organizations allocating $1-50 million, similar to 54% in 2024. However, the survey highlights a dramatic increase in high-budget investments: 30% of companies now invest $50-500 million, more than doubling from 13%, and 7% invest over $500 million, a seven-fold increase from 1%. Meanwhile, 15% of organizations operate with budgets under $1 million, ensuring AI accessibility across company sizes. Key investment areas include training data, software, and product development, alongside hardware, analytics, and talent.

High-Quality Data Fuels AI Success

The survey underscores the critical role of high-quality training data, with 94% of organizations anticipating increased demand in 2025, up from 60% last year. For 80% of respondents, accurate data is a top priority to enhance AI performance. Regulatory compliance (52%) and cost-effective data acquisition (50%) are also key focuses. As AI maturity grows, so does the need for domain-specific expertise and specialized data solutions.

"As traditional AI implementations become operational across entire organizations and industries," said Mohammad Omar, LXT Founder and CEO, "we are also beginning to see the transformative potential of agentic and gen AI applications. To power these innovations, enterprises report a growing need for high-quality data and as they evolve in AI maturity, their demand for domain specific expertise and highly specialized data solutions increases as well."

The findings signal a pivotal moment for AI adoption, with organizations prioritizing data quality and expertise to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage in an increasingly AI-driven landscape.
