Infosys and GlobalFoundries Strengthen AI-Driven IT Transformation

Infosys, a global leader in AI-first business consulting and technology services, has announced an expanded collaboration with GlobalFoundries, a leading semiconductor manufacturer. The engagement focuses on transforming GF’s enterprise IT operations into a fully managed, AI-enabled service model.

Under this multi-year partnership, Infosys will oversee end-to-end management of GF’s application ecosystems, IT infrastructure, data systems, and service desk operations. The objective is to transition from traditional outsourced IT support to a more integrated, AI-driven operating model designed for continuous optimization and improved operational resilience.

AI-Led Managed Services to Modernize Enterprise IT Operations

The collaboration introduces an AI-led managed services framework aimed at improving efficiency, reducing incidents, and enhancing overall IT service delivery. By embedding automation and intelligence into core operations, Infosys will help GlobalFoundries shift from reactive IT management to predictive and autonomous service execution.

The engagement is expected to streamline IT workflows across multiple layers of enterprise systems, enabling faster issue resolution, improved system reliability, and a more consistent end-user experience across GlobalFoundries’ global operations.

Leadership Emphasizes Efficiency, Resilience, and Digital Transformation

GlobalFoundries emphasized that the partnership supports its broader goal of modernizing IT infrastructure and strengthening operational performance across its semiconductor business.

"The renewed collaboration marks a significant step forward in GF's journey to modernize IT operations and achieve higher levels of efficiency, resilience and user experience. As a leading global semiconductor manufacturer, we are committed to advancing our digital transformation to drive greater reliability and value. Collaborating with Infosys will help us equip our teams with next–generation capabilities to accelerate this transformation journey," said Vishal Mehra, Chief Information Officer, GlobalFoundries.

Infosys highlighted its focus on delivering measurable outcomes through AI, automation, and domain-specific expertise across enterprise technology environments.

"By combining our deep domain expertise, AI capabilities and an outcome-based operating model, we will help GF reduce incidents, improve end-user experiences and sustainably lower TCO over the long term. Infosys will unlock AI value at scale to play a central role in driving intelligent operations, helping GF transition from reactive IT management to predictive and autonomous service delivery," said Anand Swaminathan, EVP & Global Industry Leader, Communications, Media & Technology, Infosys.

Semiconductor Domain Expertise and AI at Scale

A key element of the collaboration is Infosys’ domain expertise in the semiconductor industry, combined with its AI-first service delivery model. This combination is expected to enhance operational efficiency while enabling more intelligent decision-making across IT systems.

By integrating AI capabilities into core IT operations, Infosys aims to help GlobalFoundries improve system reliability, optimize resource utilization, and reduce total cost of ownership over time. The shift toward autonomous IT operations reflects a broader industry trend toward AI-enabled enterprise transformation.

Transition Toward Predictive and Autonomous IT Operations

The expanded partnership represents a strategic move toward predictive IT operations, where systems are designed to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact users. This model aligns with growing enterprise demand for resilient, self-healing infrastructure and continuous service improvement.

As enterprises like GlobalFoundries adopt AI-led managed services, the focus is shifting from maintenance-driven IT models to intelligence-driven ecosystems that prioritize performance, automation, and scalability.
