Reindeer and Papaya Global Expand Enterprise AI Automation

The partnership between Reindeer and Papaya Global aims to modernize operational workflows that are typically difficult to automate due to evolving processes, exceptions, and undocumented business logic.

Papaya Global, which provides a Workforce OS platform for payroll, HR, finance, and global payments, selected Reindeer’s AI platform to support back-office automation across payroll and finance operations. The collaboration initially focused on two key operational areas: payslip mapping and invoice coding.

"We wanted to grow the side of AI that focuses on operational processes," said Yael Hoze, VP Product Management at Papaya Global. "Now we know we can take a messy process, hand Reindeer a short description, and have it running in a couple of weeks. It's a repeatable process that's already changing how we're thinking about other workflows."

According to the companies, traditional automation systems often struggle when workflows evolve or exceptions emerge. Reindeer’s AI agents are designed to continuously adapt and learn from operational changes and human input rather than relying on static rules.

AI-Powered Payslip Mapping Reduces Manual Review

Papaya Global manages payroll operations across multiple countries, handling thousands of payslips each month in different formats, languages, and structures. Previously, approximately half of all payslips required manual expert review to ensure accurate employee matching and routing.

Reindeer developed an AI agent capable of extracting key information from varied payslip formats, matching documents to employees within Papaya’s database, and flagging uncertain cases for review. The system also learns from reviewer corrections, enabling future automation improvements without rebuilding workflows.

As a result, manual review requirements dropped from 50% of payslips to under 10%, according to the companies.

The AI platform is also designed to adapt as new payroll providers, countries, and document formats are introduced into Papaya’s operational ecosystem.

Invoice Coding Automation Reaches 97% Coverage

In addition to payroll workflows, the partnership expanded into finance operations through AI-powered invoice coding in NetSuite. Invoice coding processes often vary by customer contract structure, region, and payment type, making automation difficult for conventional systems.

Reindeer stated that the initial AI model was trained using fewer than 50 previously coded invoices, enabling the platform to automate approximately 80% of invoice coding tasks immediately.

The AI agents flag uncertain transactions for review by Papaya’s finance team and continuously update their logic based on feedback and corrections. Coverage has since expanded to 97% of invoice coding workflows.

"Every automation project eventually runs into the same wall: work changes," said Yoav Naveh, CEO of Reindeer. "New exceptions show up, rules shift, and the process you automated a year ago is not the process your team runs today. Most tools are built for a static snapshot, so they break the moment something moves. Reindeer is built the opposite way. Our agents are designed to handle exceptions, absorb changes to how work gets done, and operate even when the process was never fully documented in the first place. That is what Papaya needed, and it is why this partnership is set up to keep compounding as their business evolves."

Papaya Global currently processes more than 10,000 payslips per month through Reindeer’s platform and is evaluating additional operational workflows for future automation initiatives.

About Reindeer

Reindeer is the enterprise AI that runs your most complex business operations. Most automation assumes a stable, documented process, but real enterprise work is full of exceptions, evolves over time, and lives largely in the expertise of the people who run it. Reindeer deploys AI agents built to operate under those conditions, handling exceptions, adapting as processes shift, and learning continuously from the human experts they work alongside. Agents are trained on each client's specific operations and execute work across finance, procurement, logistics, and shared services. The company has raised $18 million in seed funding from Lightspeed, Team8, and Vesey Ventures, and serves enterprises including PepsiCo, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, and Papaya Global.
