Contrario has officially launched its AI-native recruiting platform designed to help high-growth companies accelerate hiring through a combination of expert recruiters and AI-powered automation. The company said it has already reached $6 million in annualized revenue within six months while paying out more than $1 million to recruiters on the platform.

The launch comes as organizations increasingly face hiring challenges tied to growing competition for talent, rising recruitment workloads, and the need for faster hiring processes in an AI-driven market.

  • Contrario officially launched its AI-native recruiting platform.
  • The company reached $6 million in annualized revenue in under six months.
  • More than $1 million has already been paid out to recruiters on the platform.
  • Contrario supports over 200 high-growth companies.
  • The startup raised $2.3 million in seed funding led by Nexus Venture Partners.
  • The platform combines AI agents with expert recruiter networks.

Contrario Combines AI Agents With Recruiter Expertise

Contrario said its platform is designed to automate operational recruiting workflows while allowing recruiters and hiring teams to focus on evaluating and closing top candidates.

The company integrates AI agents directly into recruiter workflows to handle repetitive administrative tasks such as sourcing coordination, scheduling, and follow-ups. Contrario also integrates with Slack and applicant tracking systems to streamline hiring operations without requiring organizations to adopt entirely new software stacks.

According to the company, traditional recruiting software and AI hiring tools have struggled to solve core hiring inefficiencies, often overwhelming hiring teams with candidate profiles without delivering intelligent automation.

"Hiring isn't about seeing more candidates, it's about finding the right ones," said Arya Marwaha, Co-founder and CEO of Contrario. "The problem is most teams are buried in admin work instead of evaluating talent. We built Contrario to help both companies and recruiters surface high-quality talent and take the rest off their plate."

Startup Gains Early Market Traction

Contrario said it is already working with more than 200 fast-growing companies, including Slash, Wispr Flow, and Listen Labs.

The startup also announced it secured $2.3 million in seed funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Inventum Ventures, Goodwater Capital, and several angel investors from the technology and AI sectors.

Founded by Arya Marwaha and Aditya Sood, Contrario emerged after the founders experienced recruiting inefficiencies firsthand while working with startups and enterprise organizations.

Before launching Contrario, Marwaha built and bootstrapped a startup to six-figure ARR, worked at BCG, and led research at Stanford HCI. Sood previously conducted NLP research at NASA and published research through Stanford AI Lab and Anthropic.

The founders met at Stanford University before leaving their master’s programs to build Contrario full time.

AI Recruiting Model Focuses on Speed and Efficiency

Contrario positions its platform as a hybrid model combining recruiter judgment with AI-driven workflow automation.

The company said traditional recruiting agencies rely heavily on manual human effort, while standalone recruiting software often lacks the human expertise required for evaluating talent effectively. Contrario aims to bridge that gap by combining expert recruiter networks with vertically focused AI agents.

According to the company, this model enables businesses to receive qualified candidates three times faster than through traditional agencies and recruiting platforms. Contrario also reported that approximately 80% of submitted candidates advance to first-round interviews.

"Founders should be spending their time pitching the company, evaluating talent, and closing great hires," Marwaha added. "Not managing the process around it."

Contrario said the platform is also creating new earning opportunities for recruiters, with top recruiters reportedly generating more than $100,000 per month through the platform.

"We are seeing a clear shift," said Marwaha. "Companies want speed and efficiency. Recruiters want responsiveness and real opportunity. We built Contrario to deliver both."

As enterprises and startups continue adopting AI across business operations, Contrario is positioning itself to modernize talent acquisition workflows through a combination of automation, recruiter expertise, and integrated hiring infrastructure.
