Boomband, an AI-native talent marketplace founded by Monster.com creator and entrepreneur Jeff Taylor, has announced its upcoming launch along with the closing of a $4.0 million seed funding round. The round was led by Boston Seed Capital and included participation from Slater Technology Fund, Rogue Venture Partners, and Service Provider Capital.

Quick Intel

  • Boomband raises $4 million in seed funding to build a human-first, AI-powered alternative to traditional job boards and resume-based hiring.
  • Founded by Jeff Taylor, creator of Monster.com, the platform addresses ghosting, unqualified applications, and dehumanizing hiring processes.
  • Job seekers (Players) create dynamic multimedia Dossiers showcasing their full potential instead of static resumes.
  • Companies (Scouts) post verified jobs and send private, AI-powered Job Signals for quality outreach rather than mass applications.
  • The Arena serves as a real-time discovery environment matching talent and opportunities based on mutual alignment and values.
  • Initial launch focuses on New England with early Scout partners across tech, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing; public launch planned for March 2026.

Addressing a Broken Hiring System

The current hiring landscape is overwhelmed by high-volume, low-quality interactions. Recruiters face floods of unqualified resumes while job seekers endure repeated ghosting and rejection. Boomband aims to shift the paradigm by centering humans rather than keyword algorithms, enabling more meaningful connections between talent and employers.

Core Features of the Boomband Platform

Boomband eliminates cold applications by allowing Players to express interest only in verified opportunities. Scouts initiate targeted, private outreach through AI-enhanced Job Signals designed for relevance and efficiency. Instead of traditional resumes, individuals build comprehensive Dossiers that include work history, projects, passions, values, and goals in a multimedia format. The Arena functions as a dynamic discovery hub where alignment drives matches, fostering better-fit opportunities for both sides.

Strategic Launch and Early Partnerships

Boomband will debut in New England, collaborating with companies in key industries including tech, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing. Early Scout partners include UWill, Leader Bank, CRH, Zus Health, Rochester Electronics, Wood MacKenzie, Talent Retriever, Quanterix, South Shore Health, Ionic, and Maverick Technology Partners. The platform is now accepting early adopters, inviting both Players to create Dossiers and Scouts to develop Job Signals ahead of the broader public launch in March 2026.

"LinkedIn is where careers go to scroll. We're building Boomband for discovery," said Jeff Taylor, Founder and CEO of Boomband. "If you've ever applied for a job and heard nothing back or felt invisible because your story didn't fit the mold, this is for you. With 7.5 million Americans out of work, people are rethinking what they want from their lives, how they define balance, and how they show up in their careers. Sending a resume into a black hole isn't working anymore. It's dehumanizing, inefficient, and it's costing people real opportunities."

"Having worked for Jeff Taylor at Monster.com, I was excited to invest in Jeff's latest innovation in the human capital industry," said Peter Blacklow, Managing Director at Boston Seed Capital. "Boomband stood out because of the strength of its founding team and understanding of the evolving job market. Jeff's background in shaping the earliest and most influential digital employment platform gives him a unique lens on today's AI dynamics and the changing workforce. That perspective drove how Boomband has been developed, and at launch it positions the company for ambitious growth."

"We're not trying to fix the resume. We're replacing it," said Taylor. "The world doesn't need more job boards. It needs a new way for people and companies to find each other – based on who they really are."

"Everyone deserves to be seen," said Taylor. "And as we build the right system, they will be."

This launch introduces a fresh approach to talent discovery in the HR tech and recruitment SaaS space, leveraging AI to prioritize human elements like values, potential, and mutual fit over volume-driven matching.
