Advancing Fleet Payment Technology

Visa Fleet 2.0 combines open-loop acceptance, sustainability readiness, and advanced payment technology into a single solution. It allows fleet operators, leasing companies, and financial institutions to monitor spending, streamline payments, and consolidate various mobility expenses—including fuel, tolls, parking, and EV charging—on one physical or digital card. Its modular design is future-proof, supporting multiple energy sources as fleet managers increasingly adopt electric, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicles.

A Unified Platform for Issuers and Providers

Through the Visa Ready for Fleet program, OpenWay has integrated Visa Fleet 2.0 into its Way4 Fleet platform. This first-ever integration brings together card issuing, acquiring, switching, fleet management, and digital wallet capabilities into a single, unified system. This empowers banks, fuel retailers, and mobility providers to quickly launch Visa Fleet 2.0 programs and issue both physical and virtual cards and wallets to their customers.

"Visa Fleet 2.0 marks a major step forward in how mobility payments are managed," said Walter Van Huyck, Solution Manager Fleet and Mobility Payments at OpenWay. "Integrating this capability into our Way4 platform helps clients deliver smarter, more secure, and sustainable payment experiences."

"As mobility continues to evolve, so do the needs of fleet operators and payment providers. Visa Fleet 2.0 is designed to support that shift," said Richard Campion, Head of Fleet and Mobility, Visa Europe. "By partnering with OpenWay, we're delivering a secure and flexible solution that helps partners streamline operations and better serve their customers. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building a more connected and efficient mobility ecosystem."

This partnership represents a significant step in modernizing payment infrastructure for the evolving needs of the global fleet and mobility sector.
