Tonkean, a provider of process and agentic orchestration software, has announced the acquisition of Cinch, an AI-powered finance and logistics intelligence startup. The acquisition strengthens Tonkean's procurement and finance offerings—specifically its FinanceWorks solution—and expands its footprint in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

Quick Intel

  • Tonkean acquires AI spend intelligence startup Cinch to bolster its procurement and finance solutions.

  • Cinch's AI platform captures and analyzes freight and invoice data for real-time spend insights.

  • Cinch's CEO and CTO join Tonkean to lead the FinanceWorks orchestration solution.

  • The deal expands Tonkean's EMEA presence, leveraging Cinch's base in Israel and Germany.

  • New capabilities include real-time invoice triage, centralized vendor analysis, and spend dashboards.

  • This follows recent Tonkean investments in proactive AI agents and legal operations leadership.

Enhancing Finance and Procurement Orchestration

Cinch brings advanced AI capabilities for automating the capture, organization, and analysis of unstructured financial documents like invoices and freight bills. Integrating this intelligence into Tonkean's FinanceWorks platform will provide customers with enhanced visibility and control over the procure-to-pay lifecycle. Key new features include real-time AI-powered invoice triage for discrepancy detection, centralized vendor analysis with full visibility, and automated spend dashboards.

Integrating Leadership and Expertise

As part of the acquisition, Cinch's co-founders will take on key roles at Tonkean. CEO Ohad Azgad becomes the General Manager for FinanceWorks, and CTO Ran Amar becomes the product architect for the same solution. This integration aims to merge Cinch's domain expertise in finance and logistics intelligence with Tonkean's broader orchestration platform. “Tonkean is the undisputed leader of the orchestration space,” said Ohad Azgad, Cinch’s co-founder and CEO.

Expanding Geographic and Market Focus

The acquisition represents a strategic investment in the EMEA region, where Tonkean has identified strong demand for agentic orchestration in finance and procurement. Cinch is based in Israel with a significant presence in Germany, providing Tonkean with an established foothold for growth. “We’ve been eager for a long time to expand our overseas footprint. We’re excited to be doing exactly that now,” said Sagi Eliyahu, Tonkean co-founder and CEO.

Building Momentum in Enterprise G&A

This move is part of a series of recent strategic steps by Tonkean to deepen its offerings for general and administrative (G&A) functions. It follows the September announcement of Proactive AI Agents for procurement, finance, and legal teams, and the earlier hiring of a new General Manager for its LegalWorks solution. The company is focusing on disrupting enterprise G&A operations through AI-powered orchestration.

By acquiring Cinch, Tonkean is adding critical spend intelligence and EMEA presence to its arsenal, positioning itself as a more comprehensive platform for automating and orchestrating complex back-office processes in large enterprises.
