Sedai, the self-driving cloud platform, has announced full support for AWS Lambda Managed Instances, empowering engineering, platform, and FinOps teams with automated tools to identify, evaluate, and migrate suitable workloads to this innovative AWS offering.
AWS Lambda Managed Instances allows Lambda functions to execute on Amazon EC2 hardware, including advanced options like graphics processing units (GPUs) and Graviton4 processors. This integration opens up new possibilities for workloads that demand higher performance or specialized compute without fully shifting to traditional EC2 or container-based services.
Key advantages include running functions on any current-generation EC2 instance type, applying EC2 pricing models such as Compute Savings Plans, extending timeouts from 15 minutes to 1 hour for asynchronous tasks, handling multiple concurrent requests in one environment, and keeping instances warm for consistent traffic.
This capability targets predictable workloads, long-running data processing, and hardware-accelerated machine learning or AI functions that previously required complex migrations.
Sedai enhances this AWS feature by leveraging its behavior-driven analytics to scan historical AWS cost and usage data, identifying Lambda functions ideal for migration based on steady or predictable traffic and compute spend.
The platform generates detailed modeling reports and recommendations that compare projected costs and performance on Lambda Managed Instances against existing setups. In Sedai Copilot mode, teams can approve and execute migrations seamlessly with a single action, streamlining the path from analysis to deployment.
This approach ensures engineering, platform, and FinOps teams can optimize serverless environments with minimal disruption and maximum confidence.
"AWS Lambda Managed Instances gives customers a powerful new option for combining performance and cost efficiency without sacrificing simplicity," said Ethan Andyshak, VP of Product at Sedai. "Because Sedai already optimizes both AWS Lambda and Amazon EC2 environments, we're uniquely positioned to help customers realize the full value of AWS Lambda Managed Instances, from identifying candidates to automatically moving them with confidence."
Sedai's integration positions organizations to fully capitalize on the hybrid potential of serverless and EC2 compute, driving faster innovation and sustained cost efficiencies in dynamic cloud operations.
