Orion and Pontera have expanded their integration to pull 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and other retirement accounts directly into Orion Eclipse workflows for seamless tax-aware planning, rebalancing, and reporting at scale.
Orion and Pontera have expanded their collaboration with a deeper integration that automatically pulls retirement accounts into Orion Eclipse workflows. This enhancement allows centralized trading teams and advisors to plan, rebalance, and report on 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and other workplace-sponsored plans at scale, eliminating the need for dozens or hundreds of individual manual orders.
The expanded integration builds on existing reporting and billing support by embedding secure data streams from Pontera directly into Orion Eclipse. Advisors can now incorporate held-away retirement accounts into unified household strategies, enabling seamless tax-aware optimization and more coordinated rebalancing across multiple portfolios.
“Retirement accounts are often a client’s largest assets, yet they’ve historically been cumbersome to manage and difficult to incorporate into an enterprise-wide portfolio,” said Dave Goldman, Chief Business Officer at Pontera. “Pontera has flipped that script, allowing firms to incorporate these assets into tax-aware household strategies and rebalance at scale, supporting broader investment strategies.”
“Advisors want to deliver advice that reflects the full household, not just the assets they can easily see,” said Reed Colley, President of Orion Advisor Technology. “By bringing held-away retirement accounts into Eclipse workflows, this integration gives advisory teams better context to rebalance more efficiently and serve clients with greater confidence. It also expands the trusted, permissioned household data within Orion, strengthening the foundation for more intelligent, connected workflows over time.”
The integration introduces four major improvements designed to streamline operations:
Advisors can now view detailed retirement plan information directly in Orion Eclipse, including fund lineups, fund-level details, changes, and plan restrictions marked as ‘restricted plans’.
Held-away retirement accounts are seamlessly integrated into client and household investment strategies, enabling more effective tax optimization across the full portfolio.
Teams can rebalance across multiple portfolios and submit orders through Pontera, significantly reducing manual effort and improving execution efficiency.
Users gain complete visibility into orders from submission to completion, with email confirmations, real-time status tracking, and guided error resolution.
This expanded Orion-Pontera integration provides advisory firms with greater visibility and control over clients’ total wealth, allowing them to deliver more comprehensive, tax-efficient advice while streamlining centralized trading and rebalancing processes.
