As digital transformation accelerates across Oman, trust has become a defining factor in the adoption of financial technology and digital services. Beyond ONE brought together industry leaders during Terrace Talks Oman to discuss how organizations can build more human-centric technology that resonates with people's everyday needs. Centered on digital payments, fintech innovation, customer confidence, and ecosystem collaboration, the event highlighted the importance of creating technology that is relevant, accessible, and trusted.
Held under the theme "Beyond Transactions, Toward Trust: How more human financial services can better serve everyday life in Oman," the discussion examined what encourages people to trust technology with essential aspects of their lives, including finances, healthcare, and everyday activities.
The panel featured Tawfiq Mohsin Al Lawati, CEO of Friendi Pay Oman; Stephane Berton, Managing Director of Talabat Oman; Aziz Dhiyab, CEO of HAL; and Azza Al Riyami, Country Manager of Network International Oman. The session was moderated by Naser Al Kharouf, Regional Chief Sales Officer MEA at Beyond ONE.
Throughout the session, panelists explored how trust is developed through more than technological innovation. Discussions emphasized the importance of delivering solutions that are relevant, simple, consistent, and aligned with the realities of everyday users.
Key topics included digital payments, customer confidence, startup innovation, local technology capabilities, and the role of ecosystem partnerships in creating practical and inclusive digital services.
The discussion also focused on the increasing momentum of Oman's innovation ecosystem and the rising demand for digital payment solutions and locally developed technology platforms. As startups and high-growth businesses continue contributing to the country's digital economy, speakers stressed the importance of designing solutions that people can easily understand, adopt, and trust rather than focusing solely on product features.
By hosting the event at the Friendi Pay and Friendi Mobile Oman office, Beyond ONE sought to create a collaborative environment where Omani founders, business leaders, operators, creative professionals, and technology experts could exchange ideas, build relationships, and drive meaningful action.
"What stood out in this discussion is that trust is not built by technology alone. It is built when technology feels relevant, simple, and genuinely useful in people’s everyday lives. At Beyond ONE, we want to help create more spaces in Oman where leaders, founders, and partners can come together to shape that future in a practical way," said Tawfiq Mohsin Al Lawati, CEO of Friendi Pay Oman.
Terrace Talks Oman is part of Beyond ONE's broader initiative to facilitate conversations around the future of digital life across its operating markets. In Oman, the initiative focuses on connecting people and organizations driving innovation across technology, finance, commerce, and customer experience.
As digital transformation continues across the Sultanate, the event reinforced that long-term success will depend not only on advancing technology but also on making digital experiences more human, trustworthy, and relevant to everyday life.
