Allianz Partners has appointed Carsten Staat as Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APAC & MEA), effective 1 August 2026. The leadership appointment supports the company's continued growth strategy across one of its fastest-growing regions while building on its presence in travel insurance, health, mobility, and assistance services.
Allianz Partners has announced the appointment of Carsten Staat as Regional Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa.
In his new role, Staat will oversee business operations across the region and report directly to Jacob Fuest, Chief Markets Officer. His appointment takes effect on 1 August 2026.
The leadership transition comes as Allianz Partners continues expanding its presence across APAC and MEA, where demand for travel insurance, international health, mobility, roadside assistance, and embedded insurance solutions continues to grow.
Carsten Staat joins the regional leadership position after serving as Managing Director of Allianz Partners Germany for the past four years.
During his tenure, he led business growth initiatives, strengthened customer satisfaction, and secured strategic partnerships that enhanced the company's market position.
Having been part of the Allianz Group since 2001, Staat has accumulated more than two decades of leadership experience across a variety of business and operational roles.
Staat succeeds Vinay Surana, who has led the APAC and MEA region for the past six years.
Beginning 1 August 2026, Surana will transition into the role of Senior Advisor to Allianz Partners CEO Tomas Kunzmann, where he will continue supporting the business through the remainder of the year.
Commenting on the appointment, Allianz Partners highlighted the strategic importance of the region as the company continues investing in long-term market expansion.
"Asia Pacific is one of the most dynamic growth regions for Allianz Partners. The opportunities across this diverse market — from travel and student health to mobility and roadside assistance — are immense, and we are committed to capturing them. Carsten's ability to drive high-performing teams, create long-lasting partnerships, and deliver sustainable growth makes him an invaluable asset as we enter this next chapter for APAC and MEA. I have every confidence he will achieve exceptional results for our customers, partners, and people across the region. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Vinay for his exemplary leadership and contributions to the region, building a solid foundation to achieve our future ambitions," said Jacob Fuest, Chief Markets Officer of Allianz Partners.
The appointment reflects Allianz Partners' continued focus on strengthening leadership capabilities across international markets.
With extensive experience in business transformation, customer engagement, and partnership development, Staat is expected to support the company's expansion strategy while helping customers and business partners across APAC and MEA access a growing portfolio of insurance and assistance services.
