Brand Becomes a Core Fundraising Lever in Private Equity

Global private equity fundraising declined 30% in 2024 to $680 billion—the third consecutive year of contraction. Capital is flowing almost exclusively to established managers, with 98% going to experienced firms and 40% captured by megafunds raising $5 billion or more. In this environment, clear differentiation has become non-negotiable.

Research from Interbrand shows 76% of investment analysts believe brand significantly influences company valuation—second only to financial forecasts—yet only 10% feel they truly understand the brand positioning of firms they evaluate.
