Aviz Networks has launched the Deep Network Observability (DNO) Interop, a collaborative initiative with Celestica, Cisco, Dell, Edgecore, and NVIDIA to validate a software-first observability stack. Designed for the AI era, this interop tests real-world use cases across diverse hardware platforms, ensuring scalable, open, and intelligent network observability for enterprises.
Aviz’s DNO Interop tests software-first observability for AI networks.
Involves Celestica, Cisco, Dell, Edgecore, and NVIDIA platforms.
Features Open Packet Broker, Aviz Service Node, and Network Copilot.
Offers AI-powered insights and conversational workflow for enterprises.
Provides custom TCO and migration reports for infrastructure refresh.
Webinar on August 7, 2025, to share detailed performance outcomes.
The DNO Interop addresses the need for modern, AI-ready network observability, moving beyond legacy systems to open, scalable solutions. Enterprises can test their use cases on a software-first stack, leveraging platforms from leading vendors like Celestica, Cisco, Dell, Edgecore, and NVIDIA. The initiative emphasizes real-time, AI-powered insights to enhance network performance and cost-efficiency.
“Observability must evolve for the AI era — open, software-first, and real-time,” said Thomas Scheibe, Chief Product Officer at Aviz Networks. “This Interop proves it’s not just possible. Enterprises can test their use cases, assess various deployment options, or join us live to see the results.”
The interop tests three software components across multiple hardware platforms:
Open Packet Broker (OPB): A multi-vendor, software-only solution for line-rate packet processing, slicing, filtering, and tunnel termination, running on standard network platforms.
Aviz Service Node (ASN): Delivers deep packet inspection, metadata extraction, deduplication, and packet capture on x86-based servers, with optional NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPU acceleration.
Network Copilot: An LLM-powered AI solution with pre-built agents for compliance, troubleshooting, and capacity planning, offering a conversational workflow.
These components enable enterprises to achieve flexible, high-performance observability tailored to AI-driven infrastructure.
The interop showcases strong industry support. “Our high-performance switching platforms provide an ideal foundation for open observability,” said Gavin Cato, Head of Portfolio Solutions and CTO, Connectivity and Cloud Solutions, Celestica. “Partnering with Aviz highlights how enterprises can achieve visibility — using Celestica switches and a software-first stack.”
Similarly, Cisco and Edgecore emphasize scalability and integration. “As AI drives new demands on infrastructure, customers want solutions that are open, scalable, and easy to integrate,” said Jeremy Foster, GM & SVP, Cisco Compute. “Cisco UCS is built for exactly this kind of open innovation.” Nanda Ravindran, VP of Product Management at Edgecore Networks, added, “Edgecore’s AIS800 family of open Ethernet switches, combined with open software, empowers enterprises to build innovative and cost-effective network solutions for both AI workloads and traditional cloud data centers.”
The DNO Interop provides enterprises with custom TCO and migration reports, guiding infrastructure transitions. A webinar on August 7, 2025, will present a technical report comparing legacy and modern observability stacks, real-world TCO analysis, and a customer case study. This initiative positions Aviz as a leader in AI-driven networking, enabling enterprises to modernize with flexible, cost-efficient solutions.
