XMPro announced that it has been named as a Sample Vendor for Agentic AI in the Gartner Hype Cycle for AI in Manufacturing, 2026, published on July 9, 2026.

According to XMPro, the recognition reflects the increasing importance of agentic AI in manufacturing as organizations move beyond using AI solely for analytics toward deploying AI agents that can coordinate industrial operations while maintaining governance and operational control.

Gartner Highlights the Growth of Agentic AI

According to Gartner, agentic AI consists of one or more AI agents capable of autonomously or semi-autonomously perceiving, making decisions, and acting across digital or physical environments.

The research firm assigns Agentic AI a "Transformational" benefit rating within the manufacturing Hype Cycle while classifying the technology as "Emerging" with market penetration between 5% and 20% of its target audience.

Gartner also projects that by 2030, 50% of manufacturers will rely on AI agents to manage and govern workflows related to product development and shop-floor efficiency, compared with 20% adoption in 2026.

Additionally, Gartner notes that organizations should prepare for agentic AI by strengthening application composability, governance, data management, and security controls while cautioning against "agent washing," where vendors rebrand existing AI assistants or automation tools without delivering true agentic capabilities.
