Axel Gern joins Ottometric's Board with more than two decades of experience leading autonomous driving, ADAS, and large-scale automotive software programs. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Mercedes-Benz, Daimler Truck, Torc Robotics, and Aeva Technologies, helping organizations develop and scale advanced vehicle technologies.
Most recently, Gern served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Torc Robotics and Managing Director of Torc Europe, where he oversaw teams responsible for autonomous trucking systems and safety engineering. Before that, he served as Chief Technology Officer of Daimler Trucks' Autonomous Technology Group, contributing to the company's autonomous trucking initiatives and software-defined vehicle strategy.
