To combat the increasing scale and sophistication of cyber threats, NTT DATA is implementing a distributed, AI-centric model for security operations. The company has launched four new autonomous Cyber Defense Centers in India and announced plans for two more in the UK and USA, creating a global network that leverages agentic AI and advanced automation to dramatically improve threat detection, investigation speed, and operational efficiency for clients worldwide.

  • NTT DATA has launched four new AI-powered autonomous Cyber Defense Centers in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Noida, and Mumbai.

  • Two additional centers are planned for Birmingham, UK (Dec 2025) and Dallas, USA (Jan 2026).

  • The centers use agentic AI and automation to autonomously triage alerts, achieving up to a 90% reduction in alerts requiring human review.

  • Investigation and response times are accelerated by up to 60%, enabling faster threat containment.

  • The model combines global threat intelligence with local regional expertise to meet data privacy and regulatory requirements.

  • This expansion adds capacity for over 800 security analysts, supporting more than 1,200 global clients with 24/7 coverage.

Modernizing Security Operations for the AI Era

This expansion signifies a strategic pivot from traditional, centralized Security Operations Centers (SOCs) to a distributed, hyper-automated defense network. The centers are built on the premise that AI-enabled threats require AI-powered defenses. By deploying AI agents to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks like initial alert triage and threat hunting, human security experts are freed to focus on complex analysis, digital forensics, and strategic response.

Technology Driving Autonomous Cyberdefense

The operational backbone of these centers is a suite of next-generation technologies. Autonomous agent-based cyberdefense allows AI to work alongside human analysts, learning from past incidents to improve over time. AI-driven threat orchestration automates the correlation of data across client environments, accelerating the entire detection-to-response cycle. This integration aims to deliver concrete efficiency gains, including the significant reduction in alert fatigue and faster mean time to detect and respond (MTTD/MTTR).

A "Glocal" Approach to Cyber Resilience

NTT DATA emphasizes a "glocal" strategy—combining global scale with local presence. Each center is designed to provide tailored threat intelligence and hunting based on its region's unique threat landscape while operating in collaboration with local national cybersecurity agencies. This ensures clients benefit from worldwide threat insights while remaining compliant with regional data privacy laws and emerging AI regulations. Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA, Inc., stated, “Our expanding footprint of next-generation Cyber Defense Centers enables us to meet the rising demand for AI-powered cybersecurity services, defend against AI-enabled threats and help our clients advance their edge-to-cloud digital transformation journeys.”

Scaling Expertise and Building Digital Trust

Beyond technology, the expansion addresses the industry-wide talent shortage by effectively scaling human expertise through AI augmentation. The new centers add substantial analyst capacity, allowing NTT DATA to manage more clients without compromising service quality. Sheetal Mehta, Head of Cybersecurity at NTT DATA, Inc., explained the vision: “With the addition of these AI-powered Cyber Defense Centers, we are advancing our vision of a globally interconnected cyberdefense network that combines cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships and world-class talent.”

This initiative positions NTT DATA at the forefront of the industry shift towards autonomous security operations. It provides a scalable blueprint for delivering continuous, intelligent threat protection that adapts to both the evolving threat landscape and the complex regulatory environment facing global enterprises.
