NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC. , a leader in observability, AIOps, cybersecurity, and DDoS protection, has announced that its Omnis Network Security Solution aligns with NIST SP 800-207 to support U.S. federal agencies in adopting Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). This solution enables organizations to implement robust cybersecurity frameworks, addressing the growing complexity of securing hybrid environments.

Quick Intel

  • NETSCOUT’s Omnis Network Security Solution supports all five steps of NIST SP 800-207 ZTA maturity.

  • Omnis Cyber Intelligence provides scalable network detection and response (NDR) with FIPS and Common Criteria certification.

  • Offers comprehensive visibility into north-south and east-west traffic.

  • Integrates with SIEM/SOAR/EDR/XDR platforms like Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, and ServiceNow.

  • Enhances threat detection, incident response, and NetOps-SecOps collaboration.

  • Announced on July 17, 2025, to bolster federal cybersecurity modernization.

Aligning with NIST SP 800-207

Since the release of NIST SP 800-207 in 2020, ZTA has become a cornerstone for combating internal and external cyber threats by enforcing a “never trust, always verify” approach. NETSCOUT’s Omnis Network Security Solution facilitates all five key steps to ZTA maturity:

  1. Identify and Monitor Critical Services: Continuously tracks all critical services across the network.

  2. Map Transaction Flows: Provides visibility into all transaction flows across an organization’s digital infrastructure.

  3. Verify Micro Perimeters: Ensures micro perimeters function as intended and detects breaches.

  4. Application Visibility: Delivers metadata and Layer 7 visibility into all applications.

  5. Incident Context: Offers full visibility during an incident’s dwell time for rapid recovery with minimal downtime.

Omnis Cyber Intelligence: A Core Component

The Omnis Cyber Intelligence solution, a key element of the Omnis platform, is FIPS and Common Criteria certified, ensuring compliance with federal standards. It leverages Adaptive Threat Analytics to capture and store all metadata and packets, enabling real-time and retrospective threat analysis. Its integration with platforms like Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, ServiceNow, and VMware enhances workflows, reduces response times, and strengthens zero-trust policy validation. “As the U.S. federal government modernizes its IT infrastructure, the need for Zero Trust Architecture to strengthen security postures becomes increasingly critical,” said Karl Schaub, chief solutions architect at NETSCOUT.

Industry Recognition and Partnerships

NETSCOUT’s solution has earned accolades, including the 2024 Business Technology Winner for Best Advancement in Cybersecurity and the 2022 Fortress Cybersecurity Award for Threat Detection. “We’re proud to collaborate with trusted technology leaders across our robust partner ecosystem to deliver mission-ready solutions,” said Chris Wilkinson, EVP of Sales at Four Inc., highlighting NETSCOUT’s role in supporting DoD, civilian agencies, and SLED environments. Posts on X reflect enthusiasm for the Adaptive Threat Analytics upgrade, emphasizing faster threat detection and AI-powered attack correlation.

Addressing Cybersecurity Challenges

The Omnis platform addresses the complexity of modern networks, including cloud, virtual, and hybrid environments, by providing “Security Without Borders” through scalable deep packet inspection (DPI). This ensures comprehensive visibility and reduces blind spots, critical for meeting compliance requirements and combating rising cyberattacks. The solution’s ability to integrate with existing cybersecurity ecosystems makes it a practical choice for organizations seeking to implement ZTA efficiently.
