Check Point Software Technologies has launched a significant update to its firewall platform designed to address the security complexities introduced by widespread AI adoption and distributed hybrid networks. The new Quantum Firewall Software, R82.10, introduces over twenty capabilities focused on securing AI transformation, strengthening Zero Trust enforcement, and providing unified protection across modern enterprise environments.

A core focus of R82.10 is mitigating the risks associated with rapid AI adoption. The software strengthens oversight by detecting unauthorized generative AI tools, expanding visibility into sanctioned AI applications, and monitoring AI-powered workflows. The release provides more consistent security for distributed architectures, which are commonplace in modern enterprises. Capabilities include centralized internet access management that unifies SASE and firewall policies, simplified gateway-to-SASE connectivity, and enhanced identity and device validation to enforce Zero Trust principles at scale across hybrid environments.
R82.10 introduces several features aimed at stopping threats earlier and simplifying operations. These include phishing protection that operates without resource-intensive HTTPS inspection, adaptive IPS to reduce alert fatigue, and new Threat Prevention Insights that proactively highlight security misconfigurations and posture gaps before they can be exploited.
To eliminate security silos, the software expands Check Point’s open-garden architecture, now offering over 250 integrations. This allows organizations to incorporate endpoint posture signals from existing vendors directly into Check Point policies, improving identity-based controls and creating a more unified, enforceable Zero Trust framework across diverse technology stacks.
