CAI, a global services firm specializing in cybersecurity and IT solutions, has been awarded a statewide contract by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA). The agreement enables CAI to deliver Security Operations Center (SOC) services to local government entities across the Commonwealth, strengthening cyber defense capabilities for public sector organizations.
The contract establishes a pre-qualified procurement pathway, allowing Virginia’s local governments and affiliated institutions to access CAI’s cybersecurity expertise more efficiently. This move is aimed at addressing the growing demand for advanced threat monitoring, incident response, and continuous security operations across public infrastructure systems.
The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) selected CAI following a competitive RFP process evaluating vendors on their ability to deliver comprehensive Security Operations Center (SOC) services. The contract focuses on enabling local governments to improve their cybersecurity posture through continuous monitoring and rapid incident response capabilities.
By participating in this statewide procurement framework, CAI now provides Virginia-based public entities with streamlined access to enterprise-grade cybersecurity services.
Under the agreement, CAI will deliver SOC services designed to support 24/7 security monitoring, real-time threat detection, and coordinated incident response.
The operational model is built on two key components:
LMNTRIX — An advanced managed detection and response (MDR) platform that enables continuous threat monitoring, real-time alerting, and rapid response across critical systems.
Virginia-based DBE Partner — A certified local partner that enhances regional engagement, ensuring localized expertise and support across deployments.
Together, these capabilities aim to provide scalable cybersecurity protection for local government infrastructure.
Cybersecurity threats targeting state and local governments have increased significantly in recent years, with ransomware attacks, data breaches, and infrastructure disruptions affecting public services nationwide.
