Keepit's Commitment to Data Protection

The SOC 2 Type 1 report is a crucial benchmark in the technology and security industries. Developed by the AICPA, it evaluates the design of an organization's internal controls at a specific point in time. By achieving this attestation, Keepit demonstrates that its security practices are not only well-defined but also designed to meet rigorous standards for enterprise-level data protection. This is particularly important for its customers who rely on Keepit to safeguard their critical SaaS data.

"Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 attestation is a significant step forward in demonstrating our commitment to transparency, trust, and continuous improvement in how we protect customer data," said Kim Larsen, Chief Information Security Officer at Keepit. "It’s a milestone that many of our customers — and prospects — have asked for, and we’re proud to deliver."

A Collaborative Effort in Implementing Controls

To secure the attestation, Keepit undertook a comprehensive, cross-departmental effort. The Information Security and Legal teams collaborated with various internal groups, including People and Culture, Quality Assurance, Delivery, Operations, Internal IT, and SOC teams. Together, these teams were responsible for implementing and validating 108 distinct controls, which address the security and integrity of Keepit's systems and processes.

This collaborative approach underscores the company’s organization-wide commitment to security. "Our success was a true cross-team effort," added Larsen. "It’s a reflection of our commitment to protecting what matters most to our customers: their data."
