Forcepoint Introduces a Unified AI Data Security Platform

As enterprises increasingly integrate AI into daily operations, sensitive business data is flowing into AI assistants, autonomous agents, and large language models. Forcepoint's new AI Data Security platform addresses this growing challenge by combining AI governance and data protection into a single cloud platform that follows sensitive information wherever AI is used.

According to the company, the platform secures both structured and unstructured data across cloud, on-premises, web, email, endpoint, and network environments while extending those protections directly into AI applications.

The launch comes as organizations continue to face growing concerns around AI governance, with Forcepoint citing research indicating that 79% of organizations struggle to secure the information supporting AI initiatives.

AI Security Shifts Focus from Visibility to Data Protection

Rather than simply identifying AI-related risks, Forcepoint's platform applies security policies directly to sensitive data so protection remains in place regardless of where the information travels.

"For 20 years, security meant keeping sensitive data away from risk. AI flips that," said Ryan Windham, CEO of Forcepoint. "The data you most want to protect is the data that makes AI worth using. I'd urge every agentic enterprise to stop locking AI down and start securing it where the risk actually lives, in the data itself. Other approaches will only tell you what's at risk. Forcepoint's protection travels with your data into AI and proves it can be trusted there."

The company says its existing architecture for protecting enterprise data across traditional environments now extends the same governance capabilities to AI systems deployed both in the cloud and on-premises.

New AI Security Capabilities Support Agentic Enterprises

The AI Data Security platform introduces several new capabilities designed to secure AI-powered workflows across enterprises.

Key innovations include:

  • AI Security Visibility and Governance to monitor AI agents and associate activity with users and autonomous agents.
  • AI Agent Gateway to provide least-privilege access for AI agents interacting with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and Jira.
  • Real-Time Prompt and Response Control to inspect AI prompts and generated responses before sensitive information is exposed.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) for AI to prevent regulated information such as personally identifiable information (PII) and payment card information (PCI) from leaking through AI workflows.
  • Shadow AI Controls to identify, allow, or block unauthorized AI applications based on organizational policies.
  • AI Detection and Response (AIDR) to monitor sanctioned AI tools, shadow AI, and AI agents through a unified management dashboard.

The platform also includes AI-powered data discovery and classification, natural language policy management through the ARIA assistant, and board-ready reporting through Forcepoint Insights.

Helping Organizations Secure AI Adoption at Scale

Forcepoint says thousands of organizations across financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and government sectors already rely on its platform for enterprise data protection. Existing customers can extend those protections into AI without rebuilding their security architecture.

"The hardest problem in enterprise security right now is ensuring that sensitive data stays protected once employees put it into AI, whether sanctioned or not," said Roland Cloutier, Strategic Security Advisor and former Chief Security Officer at TikTok, ADP and EMC, among others. "Forcepoint's approach is notably different, because it moves past visibility to enforcement that follows the data itself, which is what defensibility to auditors and boards actually requires. Knowing where your data goes is table stakes now. Proving it stays protected is the job across the enterprise, inside and outside of security."

The company stated that AI Data Security is available immediately through its global partner network, while additional capabilities—including AI Detection and Response, AI Agent Gateway, and expanded shadow AI controls—will be released progressively over the coming quarter.
