Layton’s appointment, announced on August 26, 2025, aims to accelerate Apptega’s expansion among managed service providers (MSPs), managed security service providers (MSSPs), and managed detection and response (MDR) providers, while enhancing its partner program.
Layton, with over two decades of experience in sales, marketing, and business development, will lead Apptega’s GTM strategy and partner ecosystem expansion. Apptega’s 2025 State of Continuous Compliance Report highlights that 75% of security providers missed 2024 ARR goals, with 90% struggling to differentiate. Layton’s appointment aligns with the growing demand for managed compliance services, which offer higher retention and recurring revenue. The report notes that 44% of providers with managed compliance services see at least 25% of compliance revenue as recurring, compared to 28% for those using a consulting model. “Security providers must recognize managed compliance alone is no longer a differentiator, but a necessity to keep up,” Layton said.
