On July 16, 2025, Thrive announced Nicholas J. Smolansky as its Chief Legal Officer, tasked with overseeing legal, compliance, and government affairs. Smolansky’s appointment aligns with Thrive’s aggressive growth, including its ranking as #10 in the Boston Business Journal’s 2025 Fast 50. With over two decades of experience, Smolansky previously served as CLO at Transfix Inc., where he scaled the legal team and co-developed a strategy for a planned IPO via a SPAC merger. Smolansky brings extensive expertise in managing complex transactions, legal affairs, and human resources, having served as VP and Deputy General Counsel at Advance and VP and Chief Counsel, M&A at Time Warner Cable Inc. He began his career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP and holds a J.D. from George Washington University Law School (2001) and a B.A. from Connecticut College (1997).
