Island announces the integration of its Enterprise Extension with the Extended plan in AWS Security Hub, enabling browser-native security and AI governance directly within any browser through a simplified, single-vendor AWS experience.
Island, the creator of the Enterprise Browser, has extended its security capabilities by integrating the Island Enterprise Extension with AWS Security Hub's Extended plan. This partnership brings browser-level protection and AI governance into AWS's unified security ecosystem.
The Island Enterprise Extension operates as a lightweight component that runs directly in any browser. It enforces security policies locally, eliminating the need for proxy backhaul or break-and-inspect architectures that can introduce latency or privacy concerns. Organizations gain real-time protection from phishing attacks, malware downloads, and access to dangerous or malicious destinations.
As enterprises increasingly adopt generative AI tools, Island addresses key governance challenges. The extension delivers full visibility into AI applications and browser extensions in use across the organization. It enables precise control over permitted AI resources while enforcing data boundaries that keep sensitive corporate information within approved applications and sanctioned AI platforms. This approach minimizes risks of data exfiltration through unsanctioned channels without restricting productivity.
CIOs and CISOs can leverage the extension to lower organizational risk from credential theft and shadow AI adoption. The solution integrates seamlessly into daily workflows, avoiding the operational overhead often associated with traditional security tools. By operating at the browser layer—where users interact with SaaS applications, the web, and AI daily—it strengthens the front line of modern enterprise security.
“Island is proud to help enterprises unify how they detect and respond to risk across their environments. By integrating with the AWS Security Hub Extended plan, we’re protecting the front line of modern work — where users interact with SaaS, the web, and AI every day,” said Dan Amiga, CTO and Co-founder of Island. “We’re enabling organizations to modernize security and improve operational efficiency without adding friction or complexity. This represents an important step in our collaboration with AWS. We look forward to continuing to deepen our integration and innovation with AWS to better serve the needs of the enterprise.”
The Extended plan curates high-value security solutions from AWS and trusted partners, spanning endpoint, identity, cloud, AI, and security operations. It simplifies deployment and purchasing through a standards-based, single-vendor model that supports defense-in-depth strategies. Island's integration adds browser-centric capabilities to this ecosystem, enhancing overall visibility and control.
The Extended plan for AWS Security Hub is available immediately in all commercial AWS regions.
