Hitachi Solutions and Radware partner to launch a Cloud Application Protection Service.
The service uses AI to detect and mitigate sophisticated web DDoS and API attacks.
It automatically generates defense signatures within seconds of detecting a zero-day attack.
The solution helps maintain business continuity by preventing service outages.
This launch addresses a 550% surge in DDoS attacks and major incidents in Japan.
Radware's global network of 24 cloud security centers enables low-latency mitigation.
This partnership and service launch respond to a critical need in Japan, which has recently experienced a surge of impactful DDoS attacks, including incidents that caused transportation system outages. According to Radware's 2025 Global Threat Analysis Report, DDoS attacks have increased by 550% compared to 2023. These attacks are becoming more diverse and stealthy, often targeting the application layer with encrypted traffic that is difficult to defend against using traditional methods.
The core of the Radware Cloud Application Protection Service is its use of AI-based algorithms. This technology enables the service to detect zero-day web DDoS attacks that target applications and APIs. Upon detection, the AI generates defense signatures within seconds and automatically adjusts thresholds as the attack evolves. This allows it to accurately distinguish between normal and abnormal traffic, effectively blocking malicious activity without impacting legitimate users. This automated response reduces the operational burden on security teams and helps prevent service disruptions.
Beyond the core service, Hitachi Solutions will provide comprehensive support through its Cyber Resilience Solutions, which includes consulting by white-hat hackers and incident response services. The company will also promote Radware's hardware-based DDoS protection platforms, DefensePro® X, to offer end-to-end support from prevention to recovery. Yaniv Hoffman, vice president of sales for APAC at Radware, emphasized the regional importance, stating, “The cybersecurity landscape across Japan is reaching a critical inflection point... Businesses need proactive, AI-driven defenses that align with the unique challenges and opportunities of this region. Radware is proud to partner with leading Japanese companies such as Hitachi to protect enterprises and their end users.”
The collaboration represents a strategic move to bolster Japan's cyber defenses at a time of escalating threats. By combining Radware's specialized, AI-driven security technology with Hitachi Solutions' local expertise and comprehensive support portfolio, the partnership aims to provide Japanese enterprises with a robust shield against the evolving threat landscape, ensuring greater business continuity and resilience.
