Druva, a leading data security provider, has announced a significant expansion of its cyber resilience capabilities for the Microsoft ecosystem. The new features enhance recovery for Azure Virtual Machines, introduce agentless backup for Azure Files, and extend data protection to Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Teams Private Chats, providing unified, infrastructure-free security for critical enterprise workloads.
Druva expands cyber resilience features for the entire Microsoft ecosystem.
New advanced cyber recovery for Azure VMs includes malware scanning during restore.
Agentless backup for Azure Files simplifies operations and removes security vulnerabilities.
Protection is extended to Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access Policies.
Microsoft Teams Private Chats are now covered for compliance and recovery.
The solution is a fully managed, cloud-native SaaS platform.
As Microsoft workloads become central to enterprise operations, they increasingly become targets for ransomware and insider threats. Traditional backup tools often fail to guarantee clean recovery points. Druva's enhanced capabilities are designed to close these critical gaps. The expansion includes advanced cyber recovery for Azure Virtual Machines with malware scanning and AI-driven anomaly detection, and agentless Azure Files backup that removes the vulnerabilities and complexity of traditional agent-based approaches.
Recognizing that identity is the new security perimeter, Druva now supports Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access Policies and Administrative Units. This allows organizations to apply the same identity-based controls used for logins to also safeguard backup and recovery operations, reducing exposure to identity-driven attacks. Furthermore, Druva has extended its Microsoft 365 coverage to include Microsoft Teams Private Chat, ensuring that sensitive one-to-one and group conversations are securely backed up and recoverable for compliance and business continuity.
These new capabilities are delivered through the Druva Data Security Cloud, a fully managed, cloud-native SaaS platform. This approach eliminates infrastructure complexity and provides a unified view for protecting, governing, and recovering data across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Azure services. Stephen Manley, CTO at Druva, emphasized the need, stating, “Microsoft environments are the foundation of enterprise operations, so they are prime targets for cyberattacks. Businesses need a comprehensive solution that safeguards every facet of their Microsoft 365 environment and ensures IT and security teams have complete visibility and recoverability.”
By integrating deeply with the Microsoft ecosystem, Druva provides a robust answer to modern cyber threats. This expansion strengthens its position as a leader in SaaS-based data protection, giving enterprises the confidence that their critical Microsoft data is secure, compliant, and resilient against evolving cyberattacks.
