Wand AI and Protopia AI have announced a strategic partnership to deliver sovereign AI infrastructure that enables governments and enterprises to run sensitive AI workloads securely on shared national compute resources. By combining Wand AI's operating system for AI agents with Protopia AI's privacy-preserving inference technology, the solution aims to improve compute utilization while protecting sensitive data across regulated environments.
The partnership combines Wand AI's sovereign operating system for hybrid human and AI workforces with Protopia AI's inference privacy layer, enabling organizations to securely operate AI agents while maintaining strict control over sensitive information.
The companies say the solution allows multiple ministries, agencies, financial institutions, and critical infrastructure operators to share a common sovereign AI backend without exposing confidential data to infrastructure providers or other tenants.
According to the companies, AI sovereignty requires more than hosting infrastructure within national borders.
Traditional AI deployments often expose sensitive information during inference through logs, memory, caches, runtime environments, and system traces. As a result, organizations frequently deploy isolated AI environments for every sensitive workload, leading to significant infrastructure inefficiencies.
The partnership seeks to eliminate this "isolation tax" by enabling secure shared AI infrastructure while preserving data sovereignty.
At the core of the collaboration is Protopia AI's Stained Glass Transform (SGT) technology.
SGT transforms sensitive information into protected representations before data reaches AI models.
According to Protopia AI, plaintext data remains inside the organization's trust boundary, preventing sensitive information from being exposed within the serving infrastructure while maintaining model accuracy.
This approach allows multiple organizations to safely share AI infrastructure without exposing confidential information.
Wand AI contributes its sovereign AI operating system, which includes:
Together, the two platforms create a governed AI environment designed for highly regulated sectors.
The companies' joint reference architecture supports two deployment approaches.
Uses Stained Glass Transform independently to secure AI inference without requiring confidential computing environments.
Combines Stained Glass Transform with Confidential Computing to secure both AI models and execution environments within a zero-trust AI architecture.
The integration occurs through Wand AI's Adaptive Router, allowing privacy capabilities to extend across all supported AI models.
According to the companies, the architecture is designed to increase sovereign infrastructure utilization from approximately 25% to more than 80%, helping governments maximize national AI investments while reducing operational costs.
“Too often, sovereign AI programs have had to fragment their agentic infrastructure into dedicated stacks whenever sensitive data enters the workflow,” said Jeff Brown, Chief Business Officer at Protopia AI. “Wand and Protopia AI remove that constraint. Protopia Stained Glass keeps plaintext inside each data owner’s trust boundary, so ministries and agencies can run their highest-value agentic workloads on one governed sovereign backend and make full use of the compute already in place.”
“Wand provides that foundational infrastructure: a governed operating system through which nations can deploy, operate, manage, and continuously evolve AI labor at scale. We are pleased to welcome Protopia AI into Wand’s sovereign technology ecosystem, adding a valuable privacy-preserving capability that enables ministries, institutions, and agencies to operate on a unified national stack while maintaining the security and control of their most sensitive data,” said Cristian Felix, Chief AI Architect, of Wand AI
The partnership between Wand AI and Protopia AI delivers a sovereign AI architecture designed to help governments and regulated enterprises securely deploy AI agents, protect sensitive information, and maximize utilization of shared national AI infrastructure.
Protopia AI delivers inference privacy for AI. Its Stained Glass technology protects the inference data path wherever AI runs, on-prem, in the cloud, serverless, sovereign, or across shared multi-tenant infrastructure. Stained Glass Transform converts sensitive inputs into protected representations before they leave the data owner's trust boundary, so the inference endpoint and its logs, caches, memory, and observability tooling never hold raw data. Stained Glass is software-only, needs no model retraining, and preserves accuracy and performance, which lets regulated and proprietary workloads run on shared infrastructure instead of dedicated carveouts. Organizations across financial services, defense, healthcare, and education use Stained Glass in production to put their most sensitive data to work with AI. Protopia AI is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with a global presence.
Wand AI is building the sovereign infrastructure for AI labor. Wand’s operating system enables governments and enterprises to deploy, manage, govern and continuously evolve AI agents alongside humans as trusted members of the workforce, with identity, objectives, authority, security, governance and auditability built into the platform.
