Terra Security has achieved a significant milestone as the first AWS partner to earn Security Competency status specifically for Autonomous Security Validation in the Application Security category.

Quick Intel

  • Terra Security pioneered agentic Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and secured AWS Security Competency in Application Security, covering Static Code Analysis and the new Autonomous Security Validation use case.
  • As the inaugural validated provider, Terra is the first AWS partner approved for Autonomous Security Validation.
  • Within nine months of joining the AWS Partner Network, Terra earned recognition in both AWS Security and AI Competencies and was designated as an Agentic AI product—the only validated offensive security platform in this category.
  • Autonomous, AI-powered continuous penetration testing addresses the gap where over 60% of organizations deploy code weekly, yet nearly 75% test monthly or less.
  • Terra's platform reduces testing cycles from four to six weeks to two to four hours and expands coverage from about 15% to full application scope with verified exploit impact.
  • The achievement highlights strong alignment with AWS focus on agentic AI and next-generation offensive security, with seamless CI/CD integration.

AWS Security Competency Achievement for Autonomous Security Validation

Terra Security, a pioneer in agentic Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), announced its achievement of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency status in the Application Security category, encompassing Static Code Analysis and Autonomous Security Validation. Terra stands as the first AWS partner approved for the newly introduced Autonomous Security Validation use case.

This milestone came within nine months of emerging from stealth and joining the AWS Partner Network (APN). Terra secured differentiated recognition across both the AWS Security and AI Competencies. AWS formally recognized Terra as an Agentic AI product, positioning it as the only validated offensive security platform in this category.

“The era of manual, point-in-time penetration testing is ending,” said Shahar Peled, CEO and cofounder of Terra Security. “Autonomous, continuous validation is the new standard. Being the first AWS partner validated for Autonomous Security Validation and achieving differentiated recognition across both AI and Security in under a year, reflects the maturity of our agentic AI platform and the accelerating demand for scalable offensive security.”

Addressing the Exposure Gap in Modern Development

Modern software development cycles have dramatically outpaced traditional testing models. While more than 60 percent of organizations deploy code weekly, nearly 75 percent test monthly or less, creating a widening exposure gap. Traditional penetration testing cannot scale to match modern development cycles.

“Point-in-time testing simply doesn’t hold up in modern development environments,” said Iain Paterson, CISO at WELL Health. “Terra gives us continuous visibility through white box penetration testing with ongoing code review. As AI can dramatically increase the depth and frequency of testing, what truly sets Terra apart is the human oversight that ensures safety and trust. We’ve received meaningful, critical findings without being inundated by false positives, which is essential for a healthcare organization operating at scale.”

How Terra’s Agentic AI Platform Closes the Gap

Terra addresses this exposure gap through AI-powered penetration testing driven by agentic AI workflows. These workflows autonomously discover and exploit vulnerabilities, generate verified proof of impact, and continuously retest as code and behavior evolve. Unlike legacy SAST or DAST tools that prioritize speed over exploit validation, Terra enables organizations to reduce testing cycles from four to six weeks to just two to four hours while achieving full application coverage.

“This recognition validates the technical architecture we built from day one,” said Gal Malachi, CTO of Terra Security. “Our AI-native system continuously reasons about application behavior, safely executes controlled exploitation paths, and produces verifiable, exploit-driven findings aligned to real business risk. We look forward to deepening our integrations with AWS and continuing to advance autonomous security innovation.”

Strategic Alignment with AWS and Market Impact

Terra’s relationship with AWS started through participation in the AWS and CrowdStrike Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator and expanded rapidly within the APN. Achieving dual competency in Security and AI in under a year underscores alignment with AWS priorities in agentic AI and advanced offensive security.

“Terra Security's AWS Security Competency achievement in Autonomous Security Validation demonstrates its leadership in AI-driven security testing,” said Brian Mendenhall, WW Head, Security & Identity Partner Specialists at AWS. “Terra's ability to autonomously discover, exploit, and validate vulnerabilities at machine speed while integrating seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines makes them an invaluable partner for AWS customers looking to secure applications at development velocity.”

This designation confirms Terra has met AWS requirements for delivering cybersecurity capabilities to customers. The AWS Security Competency aligns common use cases to partner capabilities, accelerating positive security outcomes and differentiating Terra as a skilled cybersecurity provider in the AWS ecosystem.

AWS enables scalable, flexible, and cost-effective solutions from startups to global enterprises. Through the AWS Competency Program, customers identify partners with deep expertise. Terra’s differentiation is now available in AWS Marketplace.
