SkillBit has launched SkillBit Labs, a new cybersecurity skills development platform designed to help organizations and professionals address growing cybersecurity workforce gaps through AI-enabled, gamified learning experiences. The platform introduces a hands-on, scenario-based training approach focused on helping users learn or practice cybersecurity skills in 20 minutes or less.
The launch comes as organizations continue facing mounting pressure to strengthen cybersecurity readiness amid increasing cyber threats and ongoing talent shortages across the industry.
According to the 2025 ISC2 Cybersecurity Workforce Study referenced by SkillBit, 59% of organizations report critical or significant cybersecurity skills gaps. The company said SkillBit Labs was created to address the need for continuous, accessible, and hands-on workforce development in increasingly complex security environments.
The platform offers training exercises covering both foundational cybersecurity concepts and emerging focus areas such as AI security. Learning modules are delivered through short, self-paced sessions intended to fit into busy work schedules.
"Cybersecurity professionals are busy. When they feel overworked and under-resourced, essential training takes a back seat just to keep up with day-to-day workloads. Our mission is to offer a platform where users can gain a skill in a short burst, such as over a lunch break or in between meetings, rather than wait for a multi-day simulation or training session," said Thomas Rogers, Co-Founder & President of SkillBit.
"SkillBit Labs empowers users with continuous, hands-on, and measurable skills development in a format that meets them where they are, especially when AI is challenging teams to secure environments in constantly evolving ways. It's how we make cybersecurity learning more accessible while helping teams stay ready for what's next."
SkillBit Labs includes a range of gamified learning and performance measurement features aimed at improving cybersecurity workforce readiness.
The platform’s measurement dashboard allows organizations and individuals to track learning progress through metrics including streaks, rankings, challenge solves, scoreboards, certifications, and team performance indicators.
For enterprises, SkillBit Labs supports workforce development across onboarding, upskilling, hiring, promotion, and cybersecurity readiness planning. The platform also provides managers with visibility into team capabilities and skill gaps to support workforce planning and targeted development strategies.
SkillBit stated that organizations can use the platform to identify areas requiring improvement while tracking employee progress over time against evolving cybersecurity demands.
SkillBit has previously worked with more than 250 enterprise and government organizations, including GitHub and Tenable, to deliver cybersecurity assessments and training initiatives.
With the launch of SkillBit Labs, the company is expanding accessibility through multiple pricing tiers:
The company said the new platform reflects a broader shift toward flexible, continuous cybersecurity education models that prioritize practical skills development and measurable workforce readiness in rapidly evolving threat environments.
