SailPoint has announced major advancements to its AI-powered SailPoint Platform, introducing an adaptive identity security framework to address the evolving challenges of modern enterprises. These updates focus on real-time governance, comprehensive protection for human and non-human identities, and integrated threat management in dynamic cloud and AI environments.
Traditional identity governance relies on periodic, manual reviews that struggle to keep pace with rapid cloud adoption, the proliferation of AI and machine identities, and sophisticated cyber threats. SailPoint’s new adaptive approach replaces static processes with continuous, automated governance that detects and remediates risks in real time.
“The old way of identity governance is simply no longer effective. It’s not enough to rely on static, after-the-fact reviews in today's dynamic threat landscape,” said Chandra Gnanasambandam, SailPoint EVP of Product and Chief Technology Officer. “As a market leader, we are moving toward a new, AI-powered adaptive approach to provide continuous visibility and real-time governance for all identity types, including AI identities, machines, agents, and credentials. This year, we aim to help our customers move to least privilege or zero standing privilege. It’s about truly securing the business, not just checking a box, at the speed that AI-driven enterprises demand.”
SailPoint’s framework is structured around four foundational pillars designed to secure the modern enterprise:
Privilege features now automatically discover and classify privileged access, delivering actionable intelligence to secure high-risk entitlements.
Non-human identity support expands through new connectors in SailPoint Agent Identity Security, enabling governance of AI agents across leading platforms, alongside enhanced lifecycle management for traditional machine accounts.
The Harbor Pilot suite introduces a conversational AI agent that simplifies access requests through guided, natural-language interactions, reducing complexity for users and administrators.
Advancements in Observability & Insights provide direct privilege visibility within the Identity Graph, identity comparisons, and operational intelligence. Integration with Data Access Security visualizes data access pathways, enriches context, and improves sensitive data mapping and exposure management.
Upcoming modernization efforts include a high-performance Access Certification engine and comprehensive Separation of Duties overhaul, both slated for the second half of 2026.
“Leveraging SailPoint’s AI capabilities, TMF Group has elevated identity governance into a fully automated, intelligence-driven capability ensuring consistent compliance across 87 jurisdictions while supporting secure global growth,” said Saurabh Gugnani, Senior Director, Global Head - Cybersecurity Engineering, Architecture & Projects at TMF Group.
These innovations position SailPoint to lead the transition from traditional identity governance to intelligent, autonomous security that adapts to today’s threat landscape and identity explosion.
