NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC. has introduced advanced AI-driven enhancements to its Arbor Edge Defense (AED) and Arbor Enterprise Manager (AEM) solutions, announced on July 31, 2025. These updates strengthen defenses against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, leveraging the ATLAS Intelligence Feed to automate threat detection and mitigation, protecting critical enterprise applications and infrastructure.
NETSCOUT enhances Arbor Edge Defense and Arbor Enterprise Manager with AI-driven features.
ATLAS Intelligence Feed monitors 700+ Tbps, covering 50% of global internet traffic.
Automates mitigation of up to 80% of DDoS attacks without manual analysis.
Features include automated IP flood detection, enhanced dashboards, and scoped user access.
Addresses 41% of organizations facing $100,000+ in DDoS-related damages.
Stock price (NTCT) at $20.881 as of August 4, 2025, per the finance card above.
NETSCOUT’s updated Arbor Edge Defense and Arbor Enterprise Manager solutions utilize AI and machine learning through the ATLAS Intelligence Feed, which analyzes over 700 Tbps of internet traffic in real-time across 500+ ISPs and 2,000 enterprise sites in over 100 countries. This global visibility enables the platform to mitigate up to 80% of DDoS attacks automatically, identifying devices involved in attacks or botnets without requiring further analysis. The enhancements address the rising sophistication of AI-driven DDoS attacks, including a 43% increase in application-layer attacks and a 30% rise in volumetric attacks, as noted in NETSCOUT’s DDoS Threat Intelligence Report.
“IT buyers’ security concerns signal a growing demand for integrated application protection and availability technologies to identify and mitigate DDoS threats,” said Chris Rodriguez, research director, security and trust, International Data Corporation (IDC). “According to IDC buyer research conducted in April 2025, 41% of organizations stated that online attacks, including DDoS incidents, cost over $100,000 in damage, with 5% stating more than $1 million. With the increased use of AI/ML to launch cyber-attacks, organizations need to invest in intelligent solutions to continuously detect new attack types and threats to avoid costly damage to critical IT infrastructure.”
The latest updates to NETSCOUT’s solutions include features designed for complex, multi-site enterprise environments:
Scoped User Access: Strengthens data segmentation by limiting visibility for specific operations teams to designated infrastructure, enhancing security and control.
Automated IP Protocol Flood Detection: Identifies and mitigates evolving IP flood attacks in real-time, reducing response times.
Enhanced DDoS Dashboard: Provides detailed insights for operations teams, maintaining visibility even with automated defenses.
On-Demand Automated Reports: Simplifies information sharing across security teams and management, improving coordination.
“We’re continually innovating to stay ahead of the growing array of DDoS cybersecurity threats as part of our Adaptive DDoS Protection strategy,” said Scott Iekel-Johnson, area vice president, DDoS and threat intelligence at NETSCOUT. “With these enhancements, we’re helping customers intelligently automate their defenses—delivering stronger protection against evolving DDoS attacks while simplifying how they manage and analyze threats.”
The enhancements position NETSCOUT as a leader in addressing the growing threat landscape, where AI-driven attacks, such as those leveraging botnets like Mirai, are increasing in frequency and complexity. By automating up to 80% of DDoS mitigations, NETSCOUT reduces operational burdens and protects critical infrastructure, aligning with the needs of enterprises facing significant financial losses from cyberattacks, as highlighted by IDC’s findings.
NETSCOUT’s AI-powered DDoS defense solutions empower organizations to proactively combat cyberthreats, ensuring resilience and operational efficiency in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
