LayerX Security, the leader in enterprise browser security, has announced it is the first browser security company to support OpenAI's newly released agentic AI browser, ChatGPT Atlas. This milestone reinforces LayerX's market leadership in securing the evolving landscape of AI-driven web browsing as organizations face increasing data security challenges from AI tool usage. The support enables enterprises to deploy comprehensive data protection policies and AI usage controls within next-generation AI-powered browsing environments.

  • Addresses AI as #1 source of corporate data leakage

  • 45% of enterprise users access AI tools on corporate endpoints

  • Recognized by Gartner in both SEB and AUC categories

Securing the AI Browser Revolution

The announcement comes as AI browsers transform how users interact with digital tools, with the browser emerging as the primary interface for AI consumption. OpenAI's launch of Atlas represents a significant shift toward "agentic" AI browsers capable of taking actions on behalf of users. According to LayerX's 2025 AI and SaaS Data Security Report, 45% of enterprise users now access AI tools on corporate endpoints, with ChatGPT leading at 92% market share. However, AI tools have also become the primary source of data leakage, with 40% of files uploaded and 22% of text pasted into AI tools containing sensitive corporate information.

Executive Vision and Market Position

LayerX leadership emphasized the transformative nature of AI browsers and the critical need for security. "It is clear that the future belongs to AI browsers," said Or Eshed, CEO of LayerX Security. "Atlas marks the 'iPhone moment' of the browser industry. It is a once-in-a-30-year seismic shift that will define the future of workspace security and productivity, and of how AI is consumed by users."

"With the advent of AI browsers like Atlas, the boundary between browsing and AI is disappearing," added David Vaisbrud, CTO of LayerX. "LayerX is proud to secure that boundary, empowering enterprises to adopt AI safely, responsibly, and at scale." The company's unique position is validated by Gartner, which recognizes LayerX as a Representative Vendor in both Secure Enterprise Browser and AI Usage Control categories.

Comprehensive Browser Security Platform

LayerX's lightweight browser extension delivers comprehensive visibility and control over all user activity in SaaS and AI tools, including access, authentication, file uploads/downloads, copy/paste actions, and text input without disrupting user experience. The platform supports all major browsers and has been first to market with support for emerging AI browsers including Comet (by Perplexity), Dia (acquired by Atlassian), and Genspark AI browsers. This capability allows organizations to maintain enterprise-grade security while embracing the productivity benefits of agentic AI browsing technologies.
