The AAISM certification addresses the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals skilled in navigating AI’s evolving threat landscape. With generative AI increasing risks like misinformation and data breaches, the credential equips professionals to implement secure AI solutions. Eligible candidates, holding CISM or CISSP credentials, build on existing security best practices to focus on AI-specific governance, risk management, and controls. “The AAISM credential validates information security managers’ commitment to elevating their expertise and proving they are attuned to how AI is reshaping enterprise security,” said Goh Ser Yoong, Head of Compliance, ADVANCE.AI, and member of the ISACA Emerging Trends and IT Risk Advisory Working Groups.
The AAISM curriculum spans three critical domains: AI governance and program management, AI risk management, and AI technologies and controls. These globally validated areas ensure professionals can implement policies, monitor risks, and deploy secure AI systems across enterprises. ISACA supports candidates with robust exam preparation options, including the AAISM Review Manual (available in digital and print), an Online Review Course, and a Questions, Answers, and Explanations Database (QAE), each offering one year of access to ensure thorough preparation.
The AAISM complements ISACA’s growing portfolio of AI resources, including courses like AI Threat Landscape and Ethical Perspectives in AI. It joins the recently launched Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) certification for auditors with CISA or equivalent credentials. “We’re proud to be the leader in developing world-class AI-focused training and credentialing for professionals in IT audit and security,” says Erik Prusch, ISACA CEO. These offerings empower digital trust professionals to harness AI responsibly while advancing their careers in a rapidly evolving landscape.
