IRONSCALES, an AI-powered email security platform protecting over 17,000 global organizations, has released its Winter 2026 update featuring three specialized AI agents: Red Teaming, Phishing SOC, and Phishing Simulation. These agents shift email security from reactive detection to preemptive protection against AI-enhanced phishing (Phishing 3.0), amid findings that 88% of organizations faced AI-powered attacks in the past year.

Quick Intel

  • IRONSCALES Winter 2026 Release introduces three AI agents for proactive email security against AI-driven threats.
  • Red Teaming Agent uses OSINT to simulate organization-specific attacks and harden defenses preemptively.
  • Phishing SOC Agent provides rapid, forensic-level investigation of suspicious emails with full evidence and reasoning.
  • Phishing Simulation Agent creates hyper-personalized, multilingual simulations based on real attacker reconnaissance.
  • New features include integrated outbound email encryption and enhanced deepfake protection for Microsoft Teams with automatic voice/biometric learning.
  • Release aligns with Osterman Research data showing legacy tools failing against flawless, payload-free social engineering at scale.

The threat landscape has evolved into Phishing 3.0, where attackers leverage AI for perfect impersonation, personalized lures, and first-attempt bypasses of traditional defenses—relying on pure social engineering rather than malicious attachments.

Three AI Agents for Unified Preemptive Defense

The new agentic architecture enables coordinated, autonomous protection:

  • Red Teaming Agent conducts OSINT scans of public sources (social media, press, job postings) to map an organization’s exposure, then proactively trains detection rules on tailored attack simulations—unlike generic threat intelligence based on past incidents.
  • Phishing SOC Agent acts as an on-demand L2 analyst, delivering comprehensive Security Assessments (verdict, evidence, reasoning) for complex cases like executive escalations or vendor impersonations in minutes, freeing teams for higher-priority work.
  • Phishing Simulation Agent generates realistic, individualized training attacks using real OSINT data, scoring employee vulnerability and crafting native-language scenarios that mirror actual adversary tactics—far beyond generic template-based simulations.

“Phishing 3.0 is flawless impersonation at scale. Attackers use AI to research organizations, craft personalized lures, and bypass pattern-based detection on the first attempt. No malicious payloads, just pure social engineering,” said IRONSCALES CEO Eyal Benishti. “Legacy solutions weren't built for this. But our new agents enable the shift from reactive to preemptive email security, allowing CISOs and their teams to stay ahead."

“Security teams are stretched thin," said Audian Paxson, Principal Technical Strategist at IRONSCALES. "The Osterman data confirms what CISOs already know: the threat has outpaced the tooling. These agents don't replace your team - they augment what your team can do. You get preemptive threat modeling, forensic-depth investigation on demand, and simulations calibrated to the actual attacks targeting your people. No additional headcount required."

Enhanced Outbound Protection and Deepfake Defense

The release adds adaptive outbound email encryption: AI analyzes context to apply policy-based or user-initiated encryption for sensitive content, with centralized management for compliance and audit readiness—extending protection beyond inbound threats.

Deepfake protection for Microsoft Teams—launched in 2025—now includes enhanced voice pattern learning from normal meetings (flagging impersonations even without video) and fully automatic profile building during routine activity, eliminating manual enrollment barriers for large-scale deployment.

IRONSCALES has also expanded its leadership with Steven Malone as Chief Strategy Officer and Amit Bluman as Senior Vice President of Research & Development to accelerate innovation in this evolving threat environment.

The Winter 2026 Release positions security teams to outsmart increasingly sophisticated bad actors and agentic cybercrime through AI augmentation, turning reactive firefighting into strategic, proactive defense.
