As enterprises accelerate AI adoption, governing AI interactions and protecting sensitive data have become critical priorities. First Recon AI has announced the general availability of its AI Security Runtime, a platform designed to secure, monitor, and govern AI usage across organizations by applying real-time policy enforcement and providing audit-ready compliance records.
First Recon AI has officially launched its AI Security Runtime, a platform built to help enterprises govern and secure AI usage across employees, applications, autonomous agents, and enterprise systems.
The solution inspects every AI interaction, including conversations between users and AI models, communication between AI agents and external tools, and interactions between autonomous agents. Policies are enforced inline before data reaches an AI model, while every security decision is recorded as audit-ready evidence to support regulatory compliance.
The company positions the platform as a way to help organizations adopt AI more confidently while maintaining visibility and control over rapidly expanding AI deployments.
"Enterprises are not short on AI ambition; they are short on control they can prove," said Kentaro Kawamori, founder and chief executive officer of First Recon AI. "Security teams have been asked to govern AI with tools that cannot read an AI conversation, judge intent, or stop an agent before it acts. We built the AI Security Runtime™ so companies can put AI to work aggressively, stay in control, and meet the compliance requirements now forming around AI with evidence instead of assurances."
According to First Recon AI, traditional security tools were built to protect files, email, and network traffic rather than AI-driven workflows. As AI assistants, copilots, and autonomous agents become increasingly common, organizations face growing challenges around sensitive data exposure, unsanctioned AI usage, and limited governance visibility.
The AI Security Runtime addresses these challenges by continuously observing AI activity across applications, APIs, gateways, endpoints, AI agents, and enterprise tools. It detects sensitive information, security threats, and policy violations in real time before determining whether interactions should be allowed, redacted, delayed, or blocked.
Every policy decision is also captured as metadata-based audit evidence to simplify compliance reporting.
At the core of the platform is First Recon AI's proprietary Semantic Security Engine, which analyzes the meaning, intent, and context of AI interactions rather than relying solely on traditional pattern matching.
The engine works alongside the company's Security Context Graph, which connects users, AI interactions, identities, and enterprise data sources to improve detection accuracy over time.
Rather than focusing exclusively on gateway-based inspection, the platform combines semantic AI security, shadow AI discovery, AI agent governance, and cost management under a unified policy framework designed to secure the entire AI lifecycle.
First Recon AI delivers the platform through two deployment options.
The first is an endpoint agent for Windows and macOS devices that governs AI usage locally, including AI applications that organizations neither own nor host. It prevents sensitive information from leaving employee devices before data reaches external AI services.
The second is a secure AI workspace available through desktop and browser applications, providing employees with a governed environment for AI chat, enterprise knowledge access, and AI agents while reducing reliance on unsanctioned AI tools.
The platform supports policy enforcement across major AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta.
First Recon AI enters the market with Conscia Group as an early strategic partner, supporting enterprise customers with AI governance and compliance capabilities.
"Our customers run mission-critical infrastructure across Europe and around the world, and they don't just need AI security – they need AI control they can prove to a regulator," says Henrik Møll, CTO of Conscia Denmark. "First Recon not only governs the AI interaction itself with a novel approach but also produces the audit trail that customers require."
The AI Security Runtime is generally available beginning today, with every deployment including a 30-day free trial. First Recon AI will also showcase the platform through live demonstrations during Black Hat USA 2026.
